subtext — Claude Code plugin: session review and privacy
The plugin feeds recorded app sessions to your agent, so it can trace what a real user did and where things broke.
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
/plugin install subtext@claude-communityWhat subtext does
Subtext records sessions from real users and hands them to your agent through the subtext MCP server at https://api.fullstory.com/mcp/subtext. It is HTTP only, so no local process runs. The agent walks a recording: which path the user took, what the console showed, which requests went out, and where the flow failed. That covers debugging user-reported issues and confirming a fix landed in the live UI.
The plugin bundles several skills. subtext-search finds sessions by what happened inside them, subtext-review produces structured summaries, subtext-session documents the review-* tool catalog, and subtext-privacy handles PII detection plus element-block, URL and network capture rules. Two more skills, sightmap-authoring and sightmap-browser, build and drive a .sightmap/ corpus, with subtext-sightmap bridging that corpus into session review. Every tool is read-only analysis except privacy-create, privacy-promote, privacy-delete, privacy-url-create and privacy-network-create, which change your org's privacy rules.
You need a free Subtext account. Sessions are stored by the hosted service and your agent reads them from there. The app also needs the Fullstory capture snippet for your org, otherwise there is nothing to record. The quick route is the wizard at npx @subtextdev/subtext-wizard: it logs you in, fetches the snippet, asks about your analytics tools, then hands the install to your coding agent.
