What sap-dev-core does

This plugin takes over the dull parts of ABAP Workbench. The agent signs in to a SAP system, keeps credentials, manages connections and runs BDC sessions. Add-on table maintenance is covered too, along with GUI scripting for SE38, SE37, SE24, SE11, SE19, SE41, SE51, SE54, SE91 and CMOD, plus inspection and recording of the interface.

Shared resources live here as well: shared/tables/ and shared/scripts/. Other plugins in the sap-dev family read from those directories, which is why the core goes in first.

Credentials are kept by the plugin itself. That matters if you point it at a production client — whether that is allowed is your team's call, not a setting.

What it helps with

  • sign in to a SAP system from Claude and keep the session
  • run a BDC session without typing through screens by hand
  • add fields to a table enhancement via SE11 and SE54
  • record a GUI script for a transaction and reuse it
  • share common tables and scripts with other sap-dev plugins

Example prompts for the agent

  • Connect to SAP and list the available connections
  • Record a GUI script for SE38 and save it under shared/scripts/
  • Run a BDC upload from the prepared file
