revit-bim — Claude Code plugin for Revit and Dynamo
A Claude plugin that knows Revit, Dynamo and BIM standards: it writes runnable Python scripts, audits models, finds clashes and exports IFC from a plain description.
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
/plugin install revit-bim@claude-communityWhat revit-bim does
Inside the plugin you get skills, agents and hooks. The core skill generate-dynamo turns a written request into a complete Python script for a Python Script node in Dynamo. A separate skill, export-dynamo-file, produces a .dyn file that opens in Dynamo directly, so nothing has to be pasted by hand.
Model work is covered by audit-model for health reports, query-model for pulling and filtering elements, clash-detection for geometric intersections between element sets, and analyze-rooms for area breakdowns by level and department. Parameters can be read, written and batch-updated, validated against required values, or renamed by prefix, numbering and parameter rules. There are also skills for schedules, sheets, view filters, IFC and Excel export, worksets, project setup, and a group of five skills for Autodesk Construction Cloud — Docs, Coordinate, Design Collaboration, APS API setup and reporting.
Running the generated scripts needs Autodesk Revit 2019 or later plus Dynamo 2.x on IronPython 2.7 or 3.x on CPython 3; scripts default to IronPython 2.7. The plugin itself asks for Claude 1.0.33+ or Claude Desktop with Cowork mode. Live two-way access to an open Revit model is not part of it — for that the plugin points you to a separate Revit MCP connector. Its hooks log a timestamp when files are saved and remind you to test a script on a detached copy before touching the live project.
What it helps with
- generate a Dynamo Python script from a written description
- produce a
.dynfile that opens straight in Dynamo - build a model health report with element and family counts
- check geometric intersections between structural and MEP sets
- verify that required parameters are filled and within range
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a Dynamo script that renames all doors by level and number
- /revit-bim:audit-model
- /revit-bim:clash-detection structural beams vs MEP pipes

Questions about revit-bim
How do I install revit-bim in Claude Code?
Add the marketplace with /plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community, then run /plugin install revit-bim@claude-community.
What does revit-bim do?
It gives Claude Revit, Dynamo and BIM knowledge: writing runnable Dynamo scripts, auditing models, detecting clashes, managing parameters, creating schedules and exporting IFC.
What do I need to run the generated scripts?
Autodesk Revit 2019 or later, and Dynamo 2.x on IronPython 2.7 or 3.x on CPython 3. Scripts default to IronPython 2.7.
Can it work with a live Revit model?
The plugin generates scripts and provides BIM expertise; live two-way interaction with a running model requires pairing it with a separate Revit MCP connector.
