phantom — Claude Code plugin: audio and installation
phantom lets Claude Code inspect mixes and stems, compare them with a reference, and plan mix decisions from measured evidence.
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
/plugin install phantom@claude-communityWhat phantom does
phantom adds five Claude Code skills for reading audio measurements and structuring a mix. The underlying tool examines spectrum, loudness, dynamics, stereo behavior, phase, and masking, then compares a file with a reference track or a profile. Its MCP server exposes 20 tools over stdio.
You can work with a full mix, a stem folder, or files such as mix.wav and reference.wav. Ask the agent to explain findings, prioritize checks, and suggest what to investigate before processing. The package supports macOS and Linux with Python 3.10–3.13. Windows is unsupported because Essentia has no Windows wheel.
Processing features are separate extras. Pedalboard effects, reference matching, and stem separation require additional installation; stem separation uses phantom-audio-separation, Demucs, and PyTorch. Core analysis does not need those extras.
What it helps with
- inspect a mix for clipping, noise, and phase faults
- compare loudness and tonal balance against a reference
- rank stems that overlap in the same frequency bands
- turn measurements into a mixing investigation plan
Example prompts for the agent
- Analyze
mix.wav, explain the technical findings, and rank what I should check first. - Compare these stems with
reference.wavand tell me what to verify by listening before making changes. - Find the stems with the strongest masking overlap and propose an investigation order.
