What medusa-dev does

The plugin includes skills for Medusa backend work, admin dashboard changes, and storefront integration using the SDK and React Query. Claude Code can draw on those instructions when you ask it to build or modify an application feature. There is also a skill for creating internal agents.

Three slash commands cover running migrations, generating them for a module, and creating an admin user. The user command takes an email and password, so check its arguments before running it. You need Claude Code and a Medusa project, or plans to create one; the MCP server queries public Medusa documentation.

What it helps with

  • add a module and API routes for a feature
  • build a widget or page for the admin dashboard
  • connect a storefront to Medusa with the SDK and React Query
  • generate migrations for a module
  • create an admin user

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a wishlist feature to my Medusa project with backend routes for managing saved products.
  • Build an admin widget for managing related products.
  • Generate migrations for the inventory module with /medusa-dev:db-generate inventory.
