lisa — Claude Code plugin: what it does, how to install
Runs an interactive discovery interview about a feature and writes ready-to-use PRDs in Markdown and JSON. Ideal for scoping requirements before writing code.
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
/plugin install lisa@claude-communityWhat lisa does
The plugin turns Claude Code into an interactive technical interviewer. It asks targeted questions about edge cases and interface trade-offs before any source file gets modified. Enabling the --first-principles flag forces the agent to question baseline architectural assumptions before collecting granular requirements.
Once the dialogue concludes, the tool saves files into docs/specs: a human-readable Markdown PRD, structured JSON stories formatted for Ralph, and a blank progress tracker. The state remains intact inside .claude. You can pick up dropped sessions anytime.
Without setting --max-questions, the interview loop continues until the agent runs out of questions. When you want to discard unfinished sessions, run /lisa:cleanup.
What it helps with
- generate a technical PRD before writing any project code
- interrogate architectural assumptions via
--first-principles - recover an interrupted interview without starting over
- prepare structured JSON user stories for downstream tooling
Example prompts for the agent
- /lisa:plan "user authentication" --first-principles
- /lisa:plan "stripe checkout" --context docs/PRD.md --max-questions 12
- /lisa:resume
