What distributed-debugging does

distributed-debugging brings distributed system tracing into Claude. It is meant for the case where a request crosses several services and you cannot tell which hop breaks.

It installs from the wshobson/agents marketplace. Author is Seth Hobson, license MIT. Claude, Codex and Cursor are listed as supported platforms, but install commands are given for Claude only.

If your project is a single monolith, this plugin does nothing for you — it is about microservices. You need Claude with access to the plugin marketplace.

What it helps with

  • find the service that returns an error in a call chain
  • stitch logs from separate microservices into one picture
  • read a trace of a request that crossed several services
  • spot where context is lost between calls

Example prompts for the agent

  • trace this request across the microservices
  • find which service breaks the call chain
  • pull the logs from every service for one request
