setup-cdn-optimization — Claude Code command: CDN setup
A slash command that walks your agent through CDN configuration: caching, compression, image formats and cache invalidation.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command performance/setup-cdn-optimizationWhat setup-cdn-optimization does
setup-cdn-optimization is a Claude command that turns CDN setup into a ten-step checklist. The agent starts with traffic patterns and user distribution, picks a provider, then plans the edge architecture. Next come origin servers, failover, SSL/TLS certificates, custom domain and DNS.
A large part of the command covers static assets and caching: content hashing, bundling, code splitting, Cache-Control headers and TTL values, ETags, multi-tier caching and cache warming. Compression gets its own steps for Gzip and Brotli, plus WebP and AVIF delivery with fallbacks and lazy loading. Cache invalidation is covered too, including automated purging in deployment pipelines and selective purging by tags or patterns.
You can name the provider as an argument: --cloudflare, --aws or --fastly. The command runs with Read, Bash, Grep and Glob only, so it reads and searches your files but never edits them. Expect to apply the config changes yourself in the provider dashboard. If the domain is not pointed at the CDN yet, the DNS and certificate steps have nothing to work with.
What it helps with
- pick a CDN provider that fits your content types and user regions
- set cache headers and TTL values per asset type
- turn on Gzip and Brotli for static files and API responses
- serve images as WebP and AVIF with fallbacks
- purge the cache automatically on every deploy
Example prompts for the agent
- set up a CDN for this project, provider --cloudflare
- run setup-cdn-optimization and propose a caching policy for static assets
- work out Cache-Control headers for images and fonts

Questions about setup-cdn-optimization
How do I install setup-cdn-optimization in Claude?
Through the templates CLI: npx claude-code-templates@latest --command performance/setup-cdn-optimization. The command file then lives at .claude/commands/setup-cdn-optimization.md.
What does setup-cdn-optimization do?
It guides the agent through ten CDN steps: provider selection, origin and SSL, static asset optimization, compression, cache headers, image delivery, invalidation, monitoring, security and cost control.
What arguments does the command take?
A provider: --cloudflare, --aws or --fastly, or the provider name without a flag. With no argument it begins by analyzing traffic and comparing providers.
