Genting Malaysia reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of MYR3.85 billion ($952 million), up 32%, carried by the US and Bahamas segment, where revenue jumped 166% to MYR1.53 billion ($378 million). The driver was the 28 April launch of table games at Resorts World New York City, the first live-gaming casino in the southern part of the state. It opened with 242 tables and 2,500 slots, and a further 1,400 machines were added in July.
US segment revenue climbed 121% quarter on quarter, with adjusted EBITDA up 169%. At the end of July the company began construction on the next phase of the RWNYC expansion, budgeted at $5.5 billion.
Group net profit fell to MYR27.0 million from MYR398.1 million a year earlier, as New York launch costs and currency losses ate into margin. Group adjusted EBITDA declined 18% to MYR844 million ($209 million).
Malaysia soft, Las Vegas steady
Resorts World Genting posted revenue of MYR1.77 billion ($438 million), down 1% year on year but up 6% on the first quarter. EBITDA rose 20% quarter on quarter on a higher VIP win rate. Nomura analysts called the result a positive surprise given air-travel disruption from the conflict in the Middle East.
Resorts World Las Vegas added 1% in revenue ($181 million) and 33% in EBITDA ($24 million) year on year. Hotel occupancy was 88.0% against 80.2%, with an average rate of $274 against $265. The company warned that geopolitical tension and rising airfares will keep weighing on tourist traffic into Malaysia.
