The White House is expected to host executives from crypto and prediction market companies on Wednesday, August 19. Traditional finance executives may also be on the guest list, though the attendee roster is not settled. Later reports put President Donald Trump at the meeting. His participation has no official confirmation.
The gathering is scheduled the day before the first meeting of the CFTC's Innovation Advisory Committee, which convenes on Thursday, August 20. The committee includes heads of crypto firms, prediction platforms, gambling operators and traditional finance. Its agenda covers crypto asset regulation, artificial intelligence and prediction markets.
That agenda runs alongside industry pressure on the Senate over the Clarity Act, a bill on digital asset market structure. Senators left for the August recess without finishing work on the document and will return to it in September.
Crypto and prediction markets have become priorities in Washington. Regulators appointed by Trump have moved toward a more innovation-friendly approach to both sectors. For operators and affiliates, the part that matters is gambling's seat on the CFTC committee: rules for prediction platforms, which overlap with betting, will be discussed with the industry in the room. On the Clarity Act, the Senate will not take it up before September, so no concrete regulatory framework should be expected before the autumn.
