What wecom-notify does

The skill runs scripts/send_wecom.py, a script built on the Python standard library only — no pip packages. A plain text message takes one command; images go through --image, files through --file. Pick a recipient with --to, otherwise it defaults to LiXueHeng.

Configuration lives in ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json, in the env.vars section. Calls are routed through a proxy, so WECOM_PROXY has to be set: traffic goes to a tinyproxy instance on a Guangzhou VPS at 10.147.17.105:8888 over ZeroTier. Skip that and nothing gets delivered, which is the first thing to check before you install.

WeCom itself sets the limits. Text caps at 2048 bytes, roughly 680 Chinese characters, so longer messages need splitting across several sends. Images accept jpg, png and gif up to 2MB; files of any format up to 20MB. Uploaded media stays on WeCom servers for three days and then expires.

What it helps with

  • ping WeCom when a build or task finishes
  • push a PDF report into a WeCom chat
  • send a chart image after generating it
  • message a specific recipient from a script
  • deliver a data file to WeCom

Example prompts for the agent

  • send a wecom message: build finished fine
  • send chart.png to me on wecom
  • send report.pdf to LiXueHeng on wecom

# WeCom Notify

Send text, image, or file messages to WeCom (企业微信) using `scripts/send_wecom.py`.

## Usage

```bash
# Text message
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py "消息内容"
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py "消息内容" --to LiXueHeng
# Image message
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py --image /path/to/photo.png
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py --image /path/to/chart.jpg --to @all
# File message
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py --file /path/to/report.pdf
python3 scripts/send_wecom.py --file /path/to/data.xlsx --to LiXueHeng
```

Default recipient: `LiXueHeng`. Config is read from `~/.openclaw/openclaw.json` (env.vars section).

## Notes

- Requires proxy (`WECOM_PROXY` in config) — API calls route through Guangzhou VPS tinyproxy at `10.147.17.105:8888` via ZeroTier
- WeCom text messages have a 2048-byte limit (~680 Chinese characters). For longer messages, split into multiple sends
- Image upload supports: jpg, png, gif (max 2MB for image type)
- File upload supports: any format (max 20MB)
- Uploaded media is temporary (3 days validity on WeCom servers)
- The script uses only Python stdlib (`urllib.request`, `json`, `mimetypes`, `uuid`) — no pip dependencies
