What telegram-group-analytics-bot does

The skill gives your agent a set of tools for reading Telegram group activity. It counts joins and leaves, messages per user, and builds hourly and daily heatmaps. Reports go out as CSV, HTML or PDF, and the schedule lives in config.json — a daily report at 09:00, for instance.

Under the hood is the telegram_analytics Python library with GroupAnalyzer, MessageTracker, ReportGenerator, AlertManager and DataExporter. Everything lands in a stats.db database. The bot also answers commands in the chat itself: /stats, /growth, /activity, /export csv. Alerts fire when message counts or active users drop below thresholds you set.

You need a bot token from @BotFather and the group ID, passed through TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN and TELEGRAM_GROUP_ID. Without those, nothing runs. Python and the packages in requirements.txt are required too.

What it helps with

  • measure member growth and churn over a week
  • find the most active posters in a month
  • build an hourly activity heatmap
  • export group stats to CSV or PDF
  • set up a daily report with an activity threshold

Example prompts for the agent

  • analyze Telegram group stats for the last 7 days
  • generate a weekly activity report and save it as PDF
  • show the top 10 users by message count
