What tauri-app-planning does

The skill behaves like a senior architect for Tauri projects. It starts by asking what you are building — target platforms, core features, UI framework — then picks the tauri-app-* skills and plugins that fit, decides between a monolith and a sidecar, and sketches the multi-window topology along with the security scope expressed as capabilities.

Orchestration comes next. You settle where state lives, in Rust or on the frontend, and how windows and events talk to each other. Two things come out of it: a technical design document in Markdown covering the stack and architecture, and a step-by-step todo list generated with the TodoWrite tool.

Call it before you write code. If the app already exists and you ask for a redesign, the skill still opens with requirement analysis, so have a clear picture of what changes first. It also helps when the requirements are solid but you have no idea which Tauri plugins cover them.

What it helps with

  • break a rough app idea into platforms, features and a UI framework
  • match tauri-app-* plugins to specific requirements
  • choose between a monolith and a sidecar before coding starts
  • describe window topology and capability boundaries
  • decide whether state belongs in Rust or the frontend

Example prompts for the agent

  • I want a Tauri 2.0 app for desktop and mobile, help me draft a plan
  • Design the architecture: two windows, shared state, event communication
  • Analyze my requirements and tell me which Tauri plugins I need

How to install tauri-app-planning

1Skills CLI (Vercel)

npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri-app-planning -a claude-code

2Manually: put the files in place

~/.claude/skills/tauri-app-planning/SKILL.md

Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tauri-app-planning/

Questions about tauri-app-planning

How do I install tauri-app-planning in Claude?

Run npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri-app-planning -a claude-code. The skill file then sits at ~/.claude/skills/tauri-app-planning/SKILL.md.

What does tauri-app-planning do?

It runs requirement analysis, selects tauri-app-* skills and plugins, and designs the architecture plus state and event orchestration. You get a design document and a todo list.

When should I use it?

When you start a new Tauri project, ask for a plan, roadmap or architecture, or want requirements mapped onto specific Tauri features and plugins.

# Tauri App Planning

This skill acts as a Senior Architect for Tauri projects. It guides the user from vague requirements to a concrete implementation plan, integrating technical orchestration patterns.

## When to use this skill

**ALWAYS use this skill when the user:**
- Wants to start a new Tauri project.
- Asks for a "plan", "roadmap", or "architecture" for a Tauri app.
- Needs to analyze requirements and map them to specific Tauri features/plugins.
- Asks about "orchestrating" windows, state, or events in Tauri.

## Workflow

1. **Requirement Analysis**: Clarify what the user wants to build (Platforms, Core Features, UI Framework).
2. **Technical Planning**:
    - Select necessary `tauri-app-*` skills/plugins.
    - Define Architecture (Monolith vs Sidecar, Multi-window topology).
    - Define Security Scope (Capabilities).
3. **Orchestration Design**:
    - State Management Strategy (Rust vs Frontend).
    - Event Communication Patterns.
4. **Execution Plan**:
    - Generate a step-by-step Todo List using the `TodoWrite` tool.

## Outputs

- **Technical Design Document**: A Markdown document outlining the stack, plugins, and architecture.
- **Todo List**: A structured list of tasks to build the project.
