What syncfusion-react-query-builder does

This skill instructs coding agents on configuring QueryBuilderComponent from the @syncfusion/ej2-react-querybuilder library. It covers defining field schemas through ColumnsModel and binding remote datasets using DataManager with ODataV4Adaptor.

The reference guides explain programmatic rule handling: building nested conditions, locking rules against editing, and applying 16 built-in operators. State persists via localStorage. Assistants learn to export rule hierarchies to SQL via getSqlFromRules and parse raw query strings back into UI components using setRulesFromSql.

The generated code will fail without @syncfusion/ej2-react-querybuilder installed in your project. Component CSS files must also be imported separately.

What it helps with

  • Build a visual condition builder with nested rules in React
  • Export UI rule hierarchies into SQL or Mongo queries
  • Bind remote datasets to filter controls using DataManager
  • Reconstruct interactive filter trees from raw SQL strings

Example prompts for the agent

  • Configure QueryBuilderComponent with drag-and-drop reordering and summary view
  • Write a handler that exports current filter rules to parameterized SQL
  • Show how to bind a remote OData service to the Query Builder using DataManager
