shiplight — Claude Code skill: one entry point for QA work
A router skill for Shiplight testing and QA. It takes a subcommand and hands it to the matching workflow, and only fires when you name shiplight.
npx skills add ShiplightAI/agent-skills-v2 --skill shiplight -a claude-codeWhat shiplight does
The skill is a dispatcher. You type /shiplight with a subcommand, and it matches the argument against a table and opens the right instruction file under references/. The subcommands are init, setup-test-auth, update, create-yaml-tests, create-agent-verification, cover, fix, verify, review, ci, cloud, support and help.
Matching does not stop at the first word. Synonyms run to several words, so the router looks for the longest phrase and passes whatever is left to the subcommand as context. Type "create a yaml test for login" and it goes to create-yaml-tests with for login carried along.
The description is gated on purpose: without the word shiplight the skill ignores a plain "write a test". Before any subcommand runs, a shared step in references/_shared/update-check.md refreshes the skill daily and checks the shiplightai CLI version. A CLI behind the published release halts the run and offers an upgrade. And init will not touch a non-empty project on its own — it asks first.
What it helps with
- route QA work through subcommands instead of one long prompt
- write deterministic YAML E2E tests from a spec
- set up login for the app under test and save browser state
- reproduce failing tests and repair them after a product change
- read run results and analytics from Shiplight Cloud
Example prompts for the agent
- /shiplight cover checkout flow
- /shiplight create a yaml test for login
- /shiplight fix — show me the failing tests

Questions about shiplight
How do I install shiplight in Claude Code?

What does shiplight do?
It is the single entry point for Shiplight QA work. The skill reads a subcommand, finds it in the dispatch table and starts the matching workflow.
When does the skill trigger?
Only when you say "shiplight" or call /shiplight. A generic request to write a test will not wake it.
