rvf-manage — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Exports agent memory to an RVF file and imports it again, so context can move between projects or into a backup.
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill rvf-manage -a claude-codeWhat rvf-manage does
The skill writes agent memory out to RVF and reads it back. An RVF file carries 384-dim ONNX vector embeddings, timestamps, namespaces and tags, causal links between entries, plus session context and agent scope. Handy when accumulated context has to move to another project or another person.
Everything runs through the ruflo MCP tools: list memories, export, import, migrate the format, read storage stats. Export goes through the CLI and keeps vectors unless you pass --include-vectors false. Import merges and skips duplicates. The skill advises picking an output path inside the project and never writing over a file you have not read.
The publish path needs care. hooks transfer store is a pattern marketplace on the public IPFS registry, and anything published may be cached with no way to recall it. Run transfer_detect-pii over the content first. Copying patterns from another local project with hooks transfer from-project keeps everything on the machine. One more thing: exports do not get the at-rest encryption, so a sensitive memory makes a sensitive file.
What it helps with
- export project memory to an RVF file
- move accumulated context to another project
- pull Claude Code auto-memories into the current namespace
- upgrade old entries to the current format
- scan patterns for PII before publishing
Example prompts for the agent
- Export the memory to `memory.rvf` and list the entries before you write anything
- Import `memory.rvf` into the `backend` namespace and tell me how many duplicates were skipped
- Run `transfer_detect-pii` over this before publishing anything

Questions about rvf-manage
How do I install rvf-manage in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill rvf-manage -a claude-code. The skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/rvf-manage/SKILL.md.
What does rvf-manage do?
It manages RVF files: listing memories, exporting with vectors, importing while skipping duplicates, migrating the format, and reporting storage stats.
How is `hooks transfer from-project` different from `hooks transfer store`?
The first copies patterns from another local project and nothing leaves the machine. The second talks to the marketplace on the public IPFS registry, where published content may stay cached.

Pick the output path inside the project, never an existing file you have not read 3. **Import** — `npx @claude-flow/cli@latest memory import -i <file> [-n <namespace>]` (merges and skips duplicates by default), or call `mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_import_claude` to pull in Claude Code auto-memories 4. **Migrate** — call `mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_migrate` for format upgrades 5. **Stats** — call `mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_stats` for storage metrics ## RVF format RVF (Ruflo Vector Format) stores: - Vector embeddings (384-dim ONNX) - Metadata (timestamps, namespaces, tags) - Causal relationships between entries - Session context and agent scope ## Transfer between projects Copy patterns from another local project (nothing leaves the machine): ```bash npx @claude-flow/cli@latest hooks transfer from-project --source /path/to/other/project ``` `hooks transfer store` is different: it is the pattern **marketplace** on the public IPFS registry (`list`, `search`, `download`, `publish`). Never run `publish` for project memory unless the user asks for it, and scan the content for PII and secrets first (`mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__transfer_detect-pii`). Anything published may be cached and cannot be recalled. Exported files are not encrypted by the at-rest setting (see the plugin README); treat them as sensitive if the memory is.
