What remotion-maps does

The skill provides reference documentation for five map animation workflows in Remotion. It outlines setups for static images mounted in <Img>, Mapbox, MapLibre, MapTiler, and CesiumJS flythroughs.

Technique folders are completely isolated. The instructions require choosing exactly one method per shot and loading only its TECHNIQUE.md file. While Mapbox needs an API key to display 3D landmarks or a round globe, MapLibre runs without credentials.

What it helps with

  • set up 3D mountain flythroughs using CesiumJS
  • render interactive maps without API keys using MapLibre
  • draw annotations over rivers and borders with MapTiler
  • animate 3D buildings and globe views in Mapbox

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create a flight simulator terrain flythrough in Remotion with CesiumJS.
  • Set up a Mapbox animation showing a 3D globe and the Eiffel Tower.
  • Animate a basic map with MapLibre without using an API key.

# Remotion Maps

Choose exactly one technique from the intended shot, then load only that technique's `TECHNIQUE.md`.
Every technique directory is self-contained and may be removed without breaking the others.

## [Static map](techniques/static-map/TECHNIQUE.md)

- Requires you grab a satellite image and mount it in a `<Img>` tag, and animate on top

## [Mapbox](techniques/mapbox/TECHNIQUE.md)

- Requires a Mapbox key
- Nicer styles by default
- Map can display a round globe when zoomed out
- Includes nice 3D buildings such as the Eiffel tower

## [MapLibre](techniques/maplibre/TECHNIQUE.md)

- Requires no API key, fully free
- Does not include 3D building

## [MapTiler](techniques/maptiler/TECHNIQUE.md)

- Uses MapTiler
- Annotations can be drawn on top of geographic features: borders, rivers, labels

## [CesiumJS](techniques/cesium/TECHNIQUE.md)

- Flythroughs through terrain and mountains
- "Flight simulator" perspective
