What portfolio-analyzer does

The skill turns the agent into a financial analyst for one task: reading a portfolio and returning a written review. You hand it holdings, it flags weak spots and ends with a list of next steps. Output follows a fixed layout, results first and recommendations after.

Everything lives in a single SKILL.md file with the instructions and the output template. There is no API call and no data feed, so the model does the work from what you paste in. Worth checking the math yourself before acting on it.

The instructions also tell the agent to attach disclaimers, which matters when real money is involved.

What it helps with

  • Check how well a portfolio is spread across asset classes
  • Spot funds whose fees eat into returns
  • Draft a rebalancing plan by target weights
  • Find losing positions for tax-loss harvesting
  • Turn a raw holdings list into a readable report

Example prompts for the agent

  • Review my portfolio: 60% stocks, 30% bonds, 10% cash. Where is the risk and what should I rebalance?
  • Go through these funds and tell me which fees are too high
  • Find the positions I can harvest losses from in this portfolio
