plaid-fintech — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Provides integration patterns for the Plaid API, covering Link tokens, ACH Auth, transaction sync, balance checks, and webhook handling.
npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill plaid-fintech -a claude-codeWhat plaid-fintech does
This skill guides the implementation of Plaid API endpoints across authentication, account linking, and event ingestion. It directs incoming webhooks into a single verified dispatcher instead of scattered routes. Sensitive banking payload fields and SDK errors must be stripped before responses reach client applications.
The sync logic halts writes before staging and atomic cursor commits are in place. When mutation errors happen, the process restarts from the original cursor within strict retry bounds. Current balance values do not reserve money and can be stale, so treating them as settled available cash creates financial risk.
Your application must supply its own database layers, queue workers, encryption tools, and user session handlers. Relying on Identity Match won't prove a debit mandate or substitute full identity verification. Access tokens require dedicated logic for revocation and update states.
What it helps with
- set up Plaid Link token flows on the backend
- implement atomic transaction synchronization with cursors
- configure ACH Auth and account balance verification
- unify Plaid webhook handling inside a single verified dispatcher
Example prompts for the agent
- Use @plaid-fintech to implement transaction sync with cursor updates
- Set up Plaid Link token generation and ACH verification following @plaid-fintech
- Review our webhook handler against @plaid-fintech security boundaries

Return only necessary client fields and redact SDK errors, tokens and banking data. Consolidate the repeated webhook routes into one verified dispatcher. The sync fragment now stops before writes until bounded staging, per-item serialization and atomic changes-plus-cursor commit are implemented; restart the entire staged update from its original cursor on mutation errors, with a retry/deadline bound. Access tokens are long-lived secrets, not permanently valid authorization: handle revocation, removal and update states. Balance responses can be null/stale and do not reserve funds; current balance is not a safe substitute for known available funds. Identity Match is not Identity Verification or proof of a debit mandate. Do not use the first account arbitrarily. Confirm product availability/pricing, token expiry and history against actual responses/current documentation. No payment, Link connection, webhook or Plaid API call was executed.
