npx skills add phuryn/pm-skills --skill pestle-analysis -a claude-codeWhat pestle-analysis does
pestle-analysis structures external analysis into six categories that capture forces beyond your control. You provide context — industry, region, product type, and current strategic questions — and get a prioritized report showing which factors matter most, ranked by impact and likelihood. The framework covers policy and trade, inflation and capital access, demographics and consumer behavior, emerging tech and automation, compliance and privacy rules, plus climate and sustainability pressures. Responses include strategic moves: which factors are opportunities to exploit, which are threats to avoid or mitigate, and what needs advance planning.
PESTLE complements SWOT analysis. SWOT looks inward at strengths, weaknesses, and competitive advantage; PESTLE scans the external landscape that affects everyone in the market. The skill also flags assumptions that need research and suggests metrics to monitor over time. Results help catch blind spots before market entry or major strategy shifts.
What it helps with
- assess whether a market is viable to enter
- identify external risks that could derail your strategy
- spot macro trends that create new competitive openings
- plan regulatory compliance and legal requirements ahead
- build scenarios for how strategy shifts if conditions change
Example prompts for the agent

How do I install pestle-analysis in Claude Code?

What does pestle-analysis do?
It systematically evaluates six categories of external factors: political policies and risk, economic conditions and inflation, social and demographic trends, technological disruption, legal and compliance requirements, and environmental and climate factors. You get a prioritized list of what to monitor and how to adapt.
How is pestle-analysis different from SWOT?
PESTLE examines the macro environment—global forces and trends you cannot control. SWOT looks inward at your company's strengths, weaknesses, and competitive position. Together they provide a complete strategic picture.
