mathmodel-figure-templates — Claude Code skill: install and overview
Runs packaged Python and matplotlib scripts to generate publication-grade scientific figures. Useful when you need Taylor diagrams, ROC curves, or correlation grids quickly.
npx skills add jihe520/MathModelAgent --skill mathmodel-figure-templates -a claude-codeWhat mathmodel-figure-templates does
The skill packages rendering scripts for eleven scientific figure layouts. The catalog includes Taylor diagrams, chord plots, and SHAP visualizations. Running render_template.py with an identifier copies the script into the project folder. It runs the code directly. Each render produces three output files: PNG, PDF, and vector SVG.
Bundled scripts rely on deterministic synthetic data. Because of that, generated charts illustrate visual layouts rather than real research measurements. When you adjust the code for real datasets, keep the MPLCONFIGDIR variable before importing matplotlib. Sandbox restrictions will otherwise block writing to the font cache.
What it helps with
- generate scientific visualizations from bundled matplotlib templates
- render Taylor diagrams or chord plots from Python scripts
- export figures simultaneously as PNG, PDF, and SVG
- create multi-panel research plots without building layouts manually
Example prompts for the agent
- List available figure templates using `python3 /home/user/.claude/skills/mathmodel-figure-templates/scripts/render_template.py --list`
- Generate the `paired-raincloud` template using mathmodel-figure-templates
- Render a `taylor-diagram` figure and export it to PDF and SVG

Questions about mathmodel-figure-templates
How to install mathmodel-figure-templates in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add jihe520/MathModelAgent --skill mathmodel-figure-templates -a claude-code.
What output formats does the renderer produce?
The script exports each chart into high-DPI PNG, vector PDF, and SVG formats in the outputs folder.
Do the bundled scripts use real experimental data?
No, all templates use deterministic simulated data with fixed seeds. They demonstrate visual structure, so you need to plug in your own dataset for actual publications.
