makepad-2.0-design-judgment — Claude Code skill: what it does
Entry skill for Makepad 2.0 architecture: routes syntax questions to specialized skills and anchors design decisions on data flow, component split, and GPU rendering.
npx skills add ZhangHanDong/makepad-skills --skill makepad-2.0-design-judgment -a claude-codeWhat makepad-2.0-design-judgment does
Acts as a router and anchor set. Syntax questions (DSL, widgets, events) go to 13 specialized Makepad skills; architectural decisions flow through six anchors: Elm data flow with state lifting, Abramov's presentational and container split, GPU rendering without DOM reconciliation, self-contained styles without cascade, SDF shaders instead of CSS, cross-platform rendering without native controls.
Needs npx and Node.js to install. State in Makepad is centralized: MatchEvent::handle_actions is Elm's update, popups and menus must belong to a common ancestor rather than nested inside the trigger. This is the entry point for any Makepad task, but syntax remains unknown without the other repository skills.
What it helps with
- Route a question about
live_design!syntax to makepad-2.0-dsl skill - Lift scattered state to a common ancestor following Elm rule
- Split a widget mixing business logic and rendering into presentational and container
- Switch from DOM reconciliation thinking to GPU frame model
- Explain why a popup should not be a child widget of its trigger
Example prompts for the agent
- Which skill should I load for Makepad widget work?
- Where should I hold state for a menu that needs to overlay the whole screen?
- How do I split a component that both renders UI and handles events?

How to install makepad-2.0-design-judgment in Claude Code?

What does makepad-2.0-design-judgment do?
Entry point for Makepad 2.0: routes syntax questions to 13 specialized skills and sets six conceptual anchors for architectural decisions — Elm flow, component split, GPU rendering, self-contained styles, SDF shaders, cross-platform rendering.
Why does this skill use conceptual anchors?
Anchors set boundary conditions for architectural decisions with no single correct answer: where to hold state, how to split components, how to think about rendering. Syntax comes from other skills, anchors structure design.
