What magento-performance-analyst does

The skill turns the agent into a Magento 2 performance analyst. It covers the whole loop: profile code, database and network, locate the bottlenecks, then build an optimization plan with priorities and a rollback path. Metrics get their own sections — page load time, TTFB, LCP, FID, CLS on the frontend, query execution time, slow query count and cache hit rate on the database side.

Work is split into frontend, database and application. Frontend means Core Web Vitals, trimming JavaScript and CSS, modern image formats. Database means killing N+1 queries, index design, connection pooling, query result caching. Application means PHP execution, memory leaks, caching strategy, lazy loading. Named tools include Blackfire, XHProf, New Relic and browser DevTools.

Measure before you change anything — that is the skill's own rule, and without a baseline every edit is a guess. Profiling needs developer mode: bin/magento deploy:mode:set developer. On a live store that switch is worth testing under load first.

What it helps with

  • find the bottleneck behind a slow Magento 2 page
  • read slow SQL queries and remove N+1 patterns
  • capture baseline metrics before touching code
  • build a prioritized optimization plan with rollback
  • check the frontend against Core Web Vitals

Example prompts for the agent

  • profile this Magento 2 catalog and show where the time goes
  • find the slow queries on the product page
  • draft an optimization plan ordered by impact
