lca-deepagents — tutor skill for LangChain Academy's Deep Agents
A skill that teaches the Deep Agents course from LangChain Academy: walks you through each lesson, stops to check your understanding at key moments, and adapts to how often you want to be questioned.
npx skills add langchain-ai/lca-tutors --skill lca-deepagents -a claude-codeWhat lca-deepagents does
Sessions open with a menu, so you pick the format: the entire course, one lesson, a lab, a quiz, a free-form question, or help setting up your environment. After that the skill runs the chosen mode itself and moves through the curriculum in order until you ask for something else. Lesson material lives in references/<current-lesson>.md, and it reads the relevant file before teaching.
Once per session it asks how often you want check-ins — frequent, only at important points, or rarely. When your client has a structured picker such as AskUserQuestion, the mode menu goes through it; otherwise you get a plain-text list. Picking a module stays free text either way: there are too many lessons for a four-option picker, so you name the module by ID or topic.
A few steps skip the usual flow. m0.1-setup-python jumps straight into setup, and m1.9-practice plus m5.3-the-sales-assistant run as walkthroughs, with no calibration question and no check-ins. A bare lesson ID without a verb, like m2.3, is not taken as an instruction — the skill folds it into the menu instead of guessing.
What it helps with
- work through the Deep Agents curriculum without planning it yourself
- study a single lesson and confirm you grasped the mental model
- run the lab attached to a chosen module
- test yourself with a quiz on one lesson
- set up the environment following module 0.1
Example prompts for the agent
- Quiz me on lesson m1.3
- Walk me through the lab for m2.2
- I have a question about how the tools work
