link-building · kostja94 — Claude Code skill for backlinks and off-page SEO
A skill that walks through link acquisition: where to get backlinks, how to write outreach, what to track. Useful once the site exists but links do not.
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill link-building -a claude-codeWhat link-building does
The skill covers off-page SEO by channel: guest posting, broken link building, unlinked brand mentions, journalist requests, digital PR, partnerships, and directory or curated-list submission on places like Taaft, Product Hunt and G2. It starts by asking for the current backlink profile, target keywords, and whatever can actually be linked to — research, a tool, a guide.
From there it produces linkable asset ideas, outreach templates, target site types, and metrics such as referring domains and DA. A separate table spells out what counts as a good link: relevance, authority, natural anchor text, editorial context. Footer links and link farms land in the avoid column.
The skill reads a root contextus.md when the project has one and loads only the modules this task needs. Without it, it works from whatever the user provides and does not invent missing facts. Auditing an existing profile is a different job — that is what backlink-analysis is for; this one is about acquiring links.
What it helps with
- list site types that actually hand out links
- write outreach that does not read like spam
- find broken links on other sites and pitch your page as the fix
- turn an unlinked brand mention into a live link
- pick the metrics worth tracking for a backlink profile
Example prompts for the agent
- build a link building strategy for our blog
- give me outreach templates for guest posting
- review our off-page SEO and suggest linkable assets
