jimeng-api-video-gen — Claude Code skill: how to install and use
Generates MP4 clips via Volcengine Jimeng API from text prompts or images. Useful for creating short video assets directly inside coding agent chats.
npx skills add wvlvik/toy-skills --skill jimeng-api-video-gen -a claude-codeWhat jimeng-api-video-gen does
The skill triggers scripts/generate_video.py to communicate with the Volcengine Jimeng Video 3.0 Pro API. It submits asynchronous generation tasks via CVSync2AsyncSubmitTask, polls for completion, and returns a direct link to the resulting MP4. Supported modes cover text-to-video and image-to-video workflows in 720p and 1080p, plus the ti2v_pro option.
Valid credentials are mandatory: VOLC_ACCESSKEY and VOLC_SECRETKEY must be configured in your environment. Without them, IAM v4 request signing fails immediately. You can control duration between 4 and 10 seconds, choose 24, 25, or 30 FPS, and pass a random seed for reproducible outputs.
Source images must be JPEG or PNG files up to 15MB with a maximum resolution of 4096×4096. Generation typically takes 2 to 10 minutes. The resulting download link remains valid for 24 hours.
What it helps with
- Render MP4 clips from natural language prompts
- Animate still images using simulated camera motion
- Create video transitions between start and tail frames
- Configure specific duration and framerate parameters
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a 5-second 1080p video of a golden retriever in a field of sunflowers
- Animate the initial frame in
portrait.pngusing camera motion mode
