godot-genre-idle-clicker — Claude Code skill for Godot clickers
A skill for idle games in Godot: big numbers, exponential costs, offline income and prestige.
npx skills add thedivergentai/Game-Dev-Agentic-Skills --skill godot-genre-idle-clicker -a claude-codeWhat godot-genre-idle-clicker does
The skill lays down rules for idle games in Godot: how income is counted, how numbers survive past float range, and how to keep a phone battery alive. It ships GDScript components. big_number.gd stores a mantissa and exponent so the economy does not crash into INF at 1e308. generator.gd computes cost as Cost = BasePrice * pow(GrowthFactor, OwnedCount), and scientific_notation_formatter.gd renders K/M/B/T suffixes.
Offline progress runs on UNIX time through offline_progress_calculator.gd. Use Time.get_ticks_msec() instead and the counter resets on app restart, so the player loses what was earned — worth checking before release. Long catch-up periods go through threaded_catchup_simulator.gd on WorkerThreadPool, while idle_performance_setup.gd turns on low_processor_usage_mode and pushes UI updates through signals rather than every frame.
The skill does not re-explain these systems in prose; it points you at the scripts. Decision tables cover when to reach for BigNumber, the formatter, or the cost-curve validator. From there the chain continues into godot-gdscript-mastery, godot-save-load-systems and godot-monte-carlo-balancer.
What it helps with
- keep income math working past float range without INF crashes
- build a generator cost curve with 1.15x growth
- credit offline earnings from UNIX time after a restart
- add prestige with a permanent multiplier for the next run
- drive UI updates from signals instead of every frame
Example prompts for the agent
- add a generator system with exponential costs using the godot-genre-idle-clicker skill
- calculate offline earnings with offline_progress_calculator.gd
- set up K/M/B/T number formatting for the labels

Questions about godot-genre-idle-clicker
How do I install godot-genre-idle-clicker in Claude?
Run npx skills add thedivergentai/Game-Dev-Agentic-Skills --skill godot-genre-idle-clicker -a claude-code. The skill lands in ~/.claude/skills/godot-genre-idle-clicker/SKILL.md.
What does godot-genre-idle-clicker do?
It gives the agent rules and scripts for Godot clicker games: big numbers, exponential costs, offline progress, prestige and number formatting.
Why not use Time.get_ticks_msec() for offline earnings?
Ticks reset when the app restarts, so accumulated time is lost. The skill calls for UNIX timestamps via Time.get_unix_time_from_system().
