finding-tiktok-creators-by-location — Claude Code skill: find TikTok
Finds TikTok creators and their videos by geographic location through apidojo's scraper on Apify. Useful for local campaigns and regional research.
npx skills add apidojo-io/apidojo-skills --skill finding-tiktok-creators-by-location -a claude-codeWhat finding-tiktok-creators-by-location does
The skill takes a TikTok place or tag URL and pulls posts: creator username, follower count, verification status, hashtags and per-post engagement metrics. It then scores each creator by combining followers (weight 0.40), average engagement (0.35) and verification (0.25), and sorts the result into three tiers: PRIME_CREATOR at 0.70 and above, GOOD_FIT from 0.40, LOW_PRIORITY below.
Runs go through scripts/run_actor.js with the apidojo~tiktok-location-scraper actor, and output can be saved as CSV or JSON. There is a fallback REST call to api.apify.com with an APIFY_TOKEN, and if Apify MCP is connected the same actor is called through the call_actor tool. You need Node.js and Apify access.
One thing to watch: the input is a TikTok place or tag page URL, not a city name. If you hand it a bare city, the skill asks you to find the link through TikTok search first. Geotagged posts also tend to include tourists rather than locals, so checking the bio is worth the extra step. Duplicate creators are collapsed by channel.username.
What it helps with
- build a list of TikTok creators in a given city
- separate locals from tourists using bio signals
- rank creators by score and priority tier
- export posts with engagement metrics to CSV
- find micro-influencers for a regional campaign
Example prompts for the agent
- find TikTok creators in Miami from this place URL
- pull creators posting from New York and sort by score
- export the location posts to results.csv

## Scoring & Ranking
Score each creator by:
- `followers` → normalized 0-1 (cap at 500K), weight 0.40
- `avg_engagement = (likes + comments + shares) / views` → weight 0.35
- `verified` → 0 or 1, weight 0.25
```python
score = 0.40 * min(followers / 500000, 1.0) + 0.35 * min(avg_engagement / 0.08, 1.0) + 0.25 * int(verified)
```
---
## Classification
| Score | Tier | Label |
|-------|------|-------|
| ≥ 0.70 | A | PRIME_CREATOR |
| 0.40–0.69 | B | GOOD_FIT |
| < 0.40 | C | LOW_PRIORITY |
---
## Edge Cases
- **No TikTok location URL**: Must provide a TikTok location page URL — not a city name. Tell user to find it via TikTok search.
- **Few results**: Some locations have limited geotagged content. Return what's available.
- **Duplicate creators**: Same creator may post multiple videos from the location — deduplicate by channel.username.
- **Irrelevant content**: Location posts may include tourists, not locals. Cross-check bio for location signals.
- **Stale content**: Sort by most recent if freshness is important.
