What finding-healthcare-practices-via-google-search does

This skill runs apidojo~google-search-scraper on Apify and accepts either searchTerms or Google startUrls. Each result contains a practice name, website URL, and Google snippet. You can set the country, language, result cap, page count, and mobile SERP mode.

It filters directory domains such as Healthgrades and Zocdoc, removes repeated practices by domain, and ranks results using health signals in the snippet, domain validity, and search position. The defaults include countryCode US and maxPagesPerQuery 1. REST runs require $APIFY_TOKEN, so that route depends on the token being available.

The output does not include phone numbers or email addresses; it provides a starting list from search results. Ranking uses weights 0.50, 0.30, and 0.20, with result tiers split at 0.70 and 0.40.

What it helps with

  • build a city-level list of healthcare practices
  • find dental offices for outreach
  • search providers by medical specialty
  • remove directories and duplicate domains
  • rank Google results for healthcare relevance

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find dental practices in Chicago and return each name, website, and Google snippet.
  • Search for dermatology practices in Miami, use up to 3 pages per query, and save the output to results.csv.
  • Find independent healthcare practices in Denver, filter out directory sites, and deduplicate by domain.

## Scoring & Ranking

Score each result by:
- `snippet_has_health_signals` (contains: clinic, practice, dental, medical, healthcare, patients, MD, DDS) → weight 0.50
- `valid_domain` (not .gov, .edu, .wikipedia, .yelp) → weight 0.30
- `position_score` → 1 - (position / total), weight 0.20

```python
score = 0.50 * int(health_signals) + 0.30 * int(valid_domain) + 0.20 * position_score
```

---

## Classification

| Score | Tier | Label |
|-------|------|-------|
| ≥ 0.70 | A | PRIME_PROSPECT |
| 0.40–0.69 | B | WARM_LEAD |
| < 0.40 | C | LOW_PRIORITY |

---

## Edge Cases

- **Directory sites**: Healthgrades, Zocdoc, WebMD listings — not practices. Filter by checking domain.
- **Hospital systems**: Large hospital networks are hard to reach. Focus on independent practices.
- **No contact data**: SERP returns URL and snippet only — no phone/email. Use as a starting list.
- **Duplicate practices**: Same clinic may appear for multiple search terms — deduplicate by domain.
- **Specialty filter**: Add specialty to search term: "orthopedic clinic Denver", "dermatology practice Miami".
