ecommerce-seo-audit — Claude Code skill: store SEO audit
Audits product and collection pages, technical SEO, crawl logs and competitors. Useful when you need to know why a store lost organic traffic.
npx skills add affilino/ecommerce-seo-audit-skill --skill ecommerce-seo-audit -a claude-codeWhat ecommerce-seo-audit does
The skill runs an audit across three layers: technical SEO, on-page work and off-page factors. It ships seven modes — a quick technical pass, product page review, collection page review, server log analysis, competitor analysis for a keyword, keyword research and mapping, and a full audit. You pick the mode with an argument, and the skill asks follow-up questions when something is missing.
It works through Read, Grep, Glob, WebFetch, WebSearch and curl. It does not crawl a whole site on its own: it checks the URLs you name, plus robots.txt, sitemaps, headers and schema. Internal link audits and log analysis need data you supply — a Screaming Frog or Sitebulb export, Apache/Nginx access logs, a list of your URLs. Without those, you get page-level spot checks only.
The skill also looks for the usual store problems: thin collection pages, manufacturer copy pasted across products, missing product schema, duplicate URLs from faceted filters, discontinued items left indexed. Worth checking your own catalog before a search engine does it for you.
What it helps with
- check whether product and collection pages are indexable
- find duplicate URLs created by faceted filters
- read server logs to see how Googlebot spends crawl budget
- compare your pages against the top five competitors for a keyword
- map keywords to pages and spot content gaps
Example prompts for the agent
- run a quick technical SEO audit on example.com
- review these 8 product page URLs from my catalog
- analyze the top 5 competitors for "running shoes"

Questions about ecommerce-seo-audit
How do I install ecommerce-seo-audit in Claude?
Run npx skills add affilino/ecommerce-seo-audit-skill --skill ecommerce-seo-audit -a claude-code. The skill file then lives at ~/.claude/skills/ecommerce-seo-audit/SKILL.md.
What does ecommerce-seo-audit do?
It audits an ecommerce site: technical elements on specific URLs, product and collection page optimization, log file analysis and competitor research. You choose the audit type by argument or from a list.
Do I need to bring my own data?
For single-page checks, URLs are enough. Internal link and log audits need a crawler export and server access logs, because the skill does not crawl the whole site itself.
