dotnet-inspect-decompiler — Claude Code skill: decompile .NET
Rebuilds C# and IL views from .NET assemblies, exposing implementation details and searchable method-body patterns.

This skill inspects a selected .NET type or member and renders reconstructed C#, annotated C# with IL details, or raw IL. It can resolve an overload, show a signature, and search public API methods for a chosen C# body shape such as object creation or a try statement.
Searches stay scoped to an assembly, type, or member. Results can include a qualified member selector, MethodDef token, rendered-body range, and the matching text. Run restore and build first when project dependencies changed. Package and PDB acquisition may use the network, so --offline is required when the analysis must stay local.
What it helps with
- reconstruct C# from a .NET assembly
- compare decompiled code with raw IL
- find methods by C# body shape
- inspect offsets, branches, and calls
- select a specific overloaded member
Example prompts for the agent
- Inspect type

Questions about dotnet-inspect-decompiler
How do I install dotnet-inspect-decompiler in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add richlander/dotnet-inspect --skill decompiler -a claude-code, then check ~/.claude/skills/decompiler/SKILL.md.
What does dotnet-inspect-decompiler do?
It reconstructs C# and displays IL for a selected type or member. It can also search assembly-scoped method bodies for a specified C# shape.
What does --offline change?
The flag blocks network acquisition of packages and PDB files. The resulting evidence set uses locally available assembly data.
