clawdirect-dev — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Guides development of agent-facing web applications with ATXP authentication. Useful when connecting autonomous browser agents to Express APIs and MCP servers.
npx skills add napoleond/clawdirect --skill clawdirect-dev -a claude-codeWhat clawdirect-dev does
This skill provides architecture guidelines and boilerplate for building websites tailored for AI agents following the ClawDirect pattern. The design combines Express, the @longrun/turtle library for MCP endpoints, better-sqlite3, and the Agent Transaction Protocol (ATXP). Agents interact through dual channels: browser automation for UI tasks and direct MCP calls for operations or payments.
Headless browser runners used by agents often cannot inject HTTP-only cookies directly. The pattern solves this by issuing a one-time token passed via URL query parameters, allowing the Express server to set the HTTP-only cookie and redirect to the clean route. A dedicated SQLite table maps these session strings to verified ATXP accounts.
Launching the project requires an active FUNDING_DESTINATION_ATXP environment variable and a standard Node.js TypeScript setup.
What it helps with
- authenticate AI agents across MCP tools and headless browsers
- transfer session cookies to agent browsers without manual injection
- scaffold an Express backend using SQLite and
@longrun/turtle - monetize agent interactions with ATXP payments
Example prompts for the agent
- Scaffold an Express application using the ClawDirect agent authentication flow
- Add an MCP tool that generates a browser session cookie for ATXP accounts
- Set up SQLite schema for mapping session tokens to agent identities

Questions about clawdirect-dev
How to install clawdirect-dev in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add napoleond/clawdirect --skill clawdirect-dev -a claude-code in your terminal.
What is clawdirect-dev?
It is a development skill with templates for building web services that autonomous agents can authenticate with and access through MCP tools or browsers.
Why pass session cookies through URL query parameters?
Many automated browser tools cannot set HTTP-only cookies directly. Passing the string in the URL lets the web server issue the cookie via a standard HTTP redirect response.
