aws-cleanrooms — Claude Code skill: debug AWS Clean Rooms
Walks your agent through AWS Clean Rooms permission failures and missing CloudWatch logs for custom ML model jobs.
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-cleanrooms -a claude-codeWhat aws-cleanrooms does
The skill gives the agent domain knowledge for AWS Clean Rooms collaborations. When someone reports an access denied error or a permission failure, the agent follows references/permission-debugging.md: it checks IAM role policies (inline and attached managed), the S3 bucket policy, the KMS key policy, Lake Formation permissions and cross-account trust.
The second path covers custom ML model jobs that produce no CloudWatch logs. That procedure lives in references/custom-model-logging-debugging.md and looks at the Configured Model Algorithm Association privacy configuration, ML Configuration role permissions and log group verification. The skill does not grant access itself; it points at where the failure comes from.
Make sure the agent can reach your AWS account and the aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws repository files, otherwise the procedures have nothing to run against. Worth installing if you already run Clean Rooms collaborations and are tired of comparing policies across accounts by hand.
What it helps with
- trace an access denied error in a Clean Rooms collaboration
- compare inline and attached managed IAM role policies
- check the S3 bucket policy and KMS key policy
- sort out Lake Formation permissions and cross-account trust
- find out why custom ML model jobs publish no logs
Example prompts for the agent
- Why does the partner table access fail in AWS Clean Rooms?
- Check the IAM role and S3 bucket policies in this collaboration, the client gets AccessDenied
- The custom model job logs never show up in CloudWatch, walk through the debugging procedure

Questions about aws-cleanrooms
How do I install aws-cleanrooms in Claude?
Run npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-cleanrooms -a claude-code. The skill lands in ~/.claude/skills/aws-cleanrooms/SKILL.md.
What does aws-cleanrooms do?
It helps the agent debug AWS Clean Rooms collaboration issues: IAM roles, S3 and KMS policies, Lake Formation permissions, cross-account trust, and CloudWatch logging for custom ML model training and inference jobs.
Which platforms support the skill?
Besides Claude, it installs for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. GitHub Copilot uses a different command: gh skill install aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws aws-cleanrooms.
