app-intents · dpearson2699 — Claude Code skill: App Intents for iOS
A skill for App Intents on iOS: turn app actions and data into Siri commands, Shortcuts, Spotlight results, widgets and Control Center controls.
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill app-intents -a claude-codeWhat app-intents does
The skill runs App Intents through four steps: pick an action and its system surface, model the data, implement perform(), then check the result in that same surface. A table ties each protocol to an iOS version, from AppIntent on iOS 16 through ControlConfigurationIntent and IndexedEntity on iOS 18.
Sections cover @Parameter value types and initializer variants, AppEntity shadow models marked with @Property, the four EntityQuery variants, AppEnum, and the AppShortcutsProvider phrases that put an action in front of Siri. A common-mistakes list and a review checklist close it out, and references/appintents-advanced.md holds the remaining initializer forms.
Siri phrases get checked in the Xcode intent preview, so with no Xcode you end up with code and a checklist rather than a run against the live surface. SnippetIntent and IntentValueQuery arrive in iOS 26 and will not compile on an older deployment target.
What it helps with
- expose an app action to Siri and Shortcuts
- model an
AppEntityshadow type with@Propertyfields - pick the right
EntityQueryvariant for ID lookup or search - index entities in Spotlight with
IndexedEntityandindexingKey - wire a configurable widget through
WidgetConfigurationIntent
Example prompts for the agent
- Add an order intent with
soupandquantityparameters and aparameterSummaryfor Shortcuts - Review my
AppEntityandEntityQuery: too much internal data is reaching the system - Give this action a Siri phrase through
AppShortcutsProviderand index the entities for Spotlight
