What coding_master does

Give it a topic — a language or a concept — and it explains the thing the way you would to someone just starting out. Examples come from Codeacademy and NetworkChuck. Code is wrapped in Markdown blocks with the syntax spelled out.

The output is locked to five sections: IDEAS, RECOMMENDATIONS, HABITS, FACTS, INSIGHTS. Every bullet is exactly 16 words. IDEAS needs at least 25 entries, INSIGHTS at least 10, the rest at least 20. Bullets are unordered, and repeats or shared opening words are not allowed.

The prompt is strict: no warnings, no notes, only the requested sections. That is a problem if you want a loose format or a short answer, because you will have to edit the prompt text yourself. In the Fabric repo it ships as the file .claude/commands/coding_master.md.

What it helps with

  • explain an unfamiliar programming language from scratch
  • get code samples in clean Markdown blocks
  • break a concept into sections with fixed bullet length
  • collect ideas and takeaways on a topic without repeats
  • draft teaching material for a beginner

Example prompts for the agent

  • Explain closures in JavaScript to a beginner, using examples from Codeacademy and NetworkChuck.
  • Break down recursion and format the code as Markdown blocks.
  • Explain async/await in Python for someone starting out, with IDEAS and INSIGHTS sections.

Questions about coding_master

How do I install coding_master in Claude?

Drop the file .claude/commands/coding_master.md into your project and the command shows up in Claude. The same prompt runs in Fabric with fabric --pattern coding_master.

What does coding_master do?

It explains a chosen concept or programming language as if teaching a beginner, and returns the answer in IDEAS, RECOMMENDATIONS, HABITS, FACTS and INSIGHTS sections.

Why is every bullet exactly 16 words?

The output instructions demand it: each bullet in every section is exactly 16 words, with at least 25 for IDEAS and at least 10 for INSIGHTS. That makes the format predictable, and rigid.
