What the-pragmatic-pm-toolkit does

The plugin provides skills for work across the product lifecycle. Use them to investigate customer jobs, build personas, sort feedback, define OKRs, plan a quarter, or review feature requirements. Other skills cover SaaS and AI feature pricing, board presentation content, product decisions, and sales materials.

Multi-stage workflows connect related tasks into a guided sequence. For instance, pm-workflow-problem-to-prd moves from problem discovery through JTBD analysis and persona creation to an opportunity tree, a PRD, and a final review. Separate workflows cover competitive intelligence, quarterly planning, sales enablement, and product migration. You can enter a workflow partway through when earlier outputs are already available.

Start by editing domain-context.md with details about your product, customer personas, compliance needs, metrics, and commercial setup. The optional personal-context.md file lets skills adjust their level of detail and communication style to your role and experience. Install the plugin through the Claude Code plugin marketplace.

What it helps with

  • Extract customer jobs and build product personas
  • Draft a PRD and check feature requirements before engineering handoff
  • Set quarterly OKRs and organize a delivery plan
  • Assess SaaS pricing and AI feature packaging
  • Create competitor battlecards for sales conversations

Example prompts for the agent

# Ultimate PM Toolkit

A Claude Code plugin with 53 PM skills + 5 agents + 6 workflows + 1 hook designed for product leadership at B2B SaaS companies.

**Domain-agnostic** — customize `domain-context.md` once for your company, product, personas, compliance requirements, and industry. Every skill adapts automatically.

## Install

```bash
/plugin marketplace add marfoerst/the-pragmatic-pm
/plugin install pm-toolkit@the-pragmatic-pm
```

| `pm-ops-facilitator` | Orchestrates PM operations |
| `pm-comms-writer` | Orchestrates PM communication |
| `pm-gtm-strategist` | Orchestrates go-to-market and sales enablement |

## Design Principles

Every skill enforces:
1. **"Why First"** — Problem clarity before solutions
2. **Leading + Lagging Indicators** — Every metric needs both
3. **Scope Discipline** — Explicit non-goals and cut lines
4. **Domain Awareness** — Compliance, regulatory, and industry context from `domain-context.md`
5. **Personal Awareness** — Adapts depth and tone to your seniority and preferences from `personal-context.md`
6. **Hybrid Interaction** — Ask critical questions, generate draft, iterate

## Customization

### Company Context (`domain-context.md`)

All domain-specific knowledge lives in `domain-context.md`. This includes:

- **Company & product** — Name, type, target market
- **Personas** — Who uses your product and how
- **Compliance** — Regulatory frameworks relevant to your industry
- **Calendar** — Seasonal events that affect planning and releases
- **Metrics** — Domain-specific benchmarks and KPIs
- **Ecosystem** — Key integrations and partners
- **Sales & GTM** — Sales team structure, deal stages, ICP, buyer personas, win/loss patterns
- **Examples** — JTBD examples, funnel stages, onboarding milestones

The plugin ships with a B2B SaaS ERP example context. Replace it with your own.

### Personal Context (`personal-context.md`)

Your personal profile helps skills adapt to your experience level:

- **Role & seniority** — Title, years in product, team size
- **Background** — Domain expertise, strengths, growth areas
- **Organization** — Who you report to, stakeholders, decision-making culture
- **Communication preferences** — Feedback style, output format, language, formality
- **Skill self-assessment** — Rate yourself 1-5 across PM disciplines so skills adjust guidance depth
- **What to avoid** — Specific instructions (e.g., "don't over-explain JTBD, I know it well")
