Philippine gaming GGR fell 20.3% year-on-year to $1.43 billion in the second quarter of 2026, PAGCOR said on 10 August. The same quarter a year earlier brought in PHP110.63 billion ($1.80 billion).
Licensed commercial casinos stayed the largest segment at PHP45.37 billion ($737 million), or 51.5% of total GGR. Electronic gaming, which covers eGames, eBingo, traditional bingo and poker, generated PHP39.85 billion ($648 million), or 45.2%. PAGCOR's own venues contributed PHP2.90 billion ($47.2 million), or 3.3%.
PAGCOR head Alejandro H. Tengco blamed the weak electronic segment, inflation and the worsening situation in the Middle East, which has cut into consumer spending. The e-gaming strain showed up earlier in the first half: PAGCOR's total revenue for the six months fell 26.6% to PHP43.32 billion ($704 million), gaming operations revenue dropped 27.1% to PHP38.92 billion ($633 million) and receipts from eGames and eBingo fell 41.9% to PHP18.60 billion ($302 million).
PAGCOR plans to work with market participants on service improvements, technology adoption and responsible gaming measures to rebuild the sector.
