## What it does

The skill maps out the Zoom Video SDK documentation for macOS. It points the agent at `macos.md`, breakdowns of the session lifecycle and architecture, a session-join pattern, a set of scenarios, and a reference for environment variables. There is also `RUNBOOK.md` with a five-minute preflight and a debugging checklist.

Joining a session is tokenized, and the UI is yours to build — the SDK does not draw windows or panels for you. That makes the skill useful when you need custom controls over the media stream and your own handling of camera, microphone and screen share on desktop.

For Claude the install is a single `npx skills add` command, and the skill file lands at `.agents/skills/macos/SKILL.md`. If your project pins a specific SDK version, start with `references/versioning-and-compatibility.md`: a mismatch between SDK and client versions is the first thing that breaks a join.

## Install

### Codex (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill macos -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/macos/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Claude Code

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill macos -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/macos/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/macos/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/macos/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install openai/plugins macos
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/macos/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/openai/plugins --path plugins/zoom/skills/video-sdk/macos
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/macos/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/openai/plugins/tree/HEAD/plugins/zoom/skills/video-sdk/macos/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a native macOS app with a Zoom video session
- join a user to a session with a token
- walk through the session lifecycle step by step
- wire up camera, microphone and screen share on desktop
- track down an SDK and client version mismatch

## Example prompts
- help me build a macOS app with a Zoom video session using this skill
- show the tokenized join example from examples/session-join-pattern.md
- walk me through RUNBOOK.md before I launch the app
