# x-growth

A skill that hands your agent a playbook for growing on X/Twitter: what to post, how replies compound reach, and why Premium is now a baseline.

## What it does

The skill gives the agent a growth frame for X/Twitter built on the SPARK framework: sparking conversation, Premium and profile, amplifying through replies, racing the first hour, and keeping it credible. It reads `brand-profile` and `voice-builder` first, then drafts posts and reply copy. The live replying, quote-posts and community work stay with a human.

The core argument is that conversation beats broadcasting. A reply counts for far more than a like, and first-hour velocity decides out-of-network reach. Links belong in the first reply, not the post. Publishing goes through `scheduling-and-queue` and WoopSocial, and metrics come from native X analytics.

It is blunt about cost too: Premium is a real expense and effectively a baseline for reach, so the skill frames it as a channel-priority call. X does not fit every brand. Engagement bait, pods, copy-paste virality and promised earnings are ruled out — monetization is concentrated. No auto-replies either; a person does the talking.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill x-growth -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/x-growth/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill x-growth -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill x-growth -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install social-media-skills/skills x-growth
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill x-growth -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills --path skills/x-growth
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill x-growth -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/x-growth/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- decide whether X is worth running for the brand
- draft a posting plan that fits the audience
- work out whether X Premium is worth the spend
- build a reply strategy into larger niche accounts
- plan what happens in the first hour after posting

## Example prompts
- I want to grow on X — build a posting and reply strategy with SPARK
- should we get X Premium? treat it as a channel-priority call
- draft a 60/30/10 reply plan into bigger accounts in our niche

  The X/Twitter growth playbook for 2026. Use when someone wants to "grow on X / Twitter," "get more
  reach/followers/impressions on X," "an X content/posting strategy," "should I get X Premium," "how
  the X algorithm works," or how to use replies/quote-posts/long-form/video to grow. Conversation is
  the engine (replies and first-hour velocity), Premium is effectively a baseline, and links go in the
  first reply. Uses the SPARK framework. Reads brand-profile + voice-builder first. The agent drafts
  posts + reply copy; a human does the live replying/quote-posts/community engagement; WoopSocial
  schedules posts; metrics come from native X analytics; nothing is fabricated. Complements
  thread-writer (thread-format craft).

# x-growth

The **X/Twitter growth engine** — what to post, when, how to leverage Premium, and how replies compound
reach. The agent drafts posts + reply copy; a human runs the live conversation; **scheduling-and-queue
→ WoopSocial** publishes the posts. Complements **thread-writer** (the thread-format craft).

## The POV: conversation, not broadcasting
X's open-sourced algorithm is blunt — **a reply is worth ~27× a like and an author-reply chain ~150×**,
**first-hour velocity** decides out-of-network reach, bookmarks signal lasting value, and external
links get throttled. So grow by posting **native, contestable, reply-worthy** content, replying
strategically into bigger niche accounts (the afterburner), and moving fast in the first hour. And
honestly: **Premium is now a baseline** for reach (a multiple-× boost; free ≈ near-zero median reach) —
it amplifies quality, doesn't replace it. X fits **B2B/tech/finance/thought-leadership/real-time**, not
every brand.

## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — positioning, audience, non-negotiables.
2. **voice-builder** — so posts and replies sound like the brand.

## The framework: SPARK
(Depth: `references/the-spark-framework.md`.)
- **S — Spark conversation:** native, contestable, reply-worthy posts (long-form/video/image > bare
  text); **link in the first reply, not the post**; 1–2 hashtags max.
- **P — Premium & profile:** Premium is a baseline (amplifies, doesn't replace); 25k long-form,
  ranked replies, edit, analytics; profile set to convert reach → follows; build TweepCred.
- **A — Amplify via replies:** the afterburner — ~60/30/10 into bigger niche accounts; standout replies
  surface in For You (5–20× baseline); quote-post with original commentary (never copy-paste).
- **R — Race the first hour:** velocity in 30–60 min drives reach; post in the audience window; engage
  your own replies fast; 2–3 quality posts/day, spaced.
```
