## What it does

The skill scans a draft for the patterns that give generated text away: inflated phrasing, promotional adjectives, vague nods to unnamed observers, stacked -ing clauses, filler connectives. English and Chinese are both covered. The pattern list comes from Wikipedia's "Signs of AI writing" guide.

What's inside: a five-rule checklist, tables of recurring patterns, separate reference files for English and Chinese, and before/after examples. A scoring table rates the text on five dimensions, where 45–50 means the AI traces are gone. One section deals with voice — opinions, uneven sentence length, admitting mixed feelings.

On academic prose the skill looks for `skills/ml-paper-writing/references/knowledge/paper-miner-writing-memory.md` in the current client's skill home. If that file isn't there or doesn't fit, it falls back on its own references. Your meaning, evidence and venue requirements stay as they were. Worth installing if you edit drafts rather than only generating them.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill writing-anti-ai -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/writing-anti-ai/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill writing-anti-ai -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill writing-anti-ai -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar writing-anti-ai
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill writing-anti-ai -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --path skills/writing-anti-ai
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill writing-anti-ai -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar/tree/HEAD/skills/writing-anti-ai/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- clean filler phrases out of a draft before submission
- rewrite generated copy so it doesn't read as machine output
- audit a finished article for formulaic constructions
- break up a paragraph where every sentence runs the same length
- drop promotional adjectives from a product description

## Example prompts
- Remove the AI writing patterns from this text
- This sounds robotic — make it read more naturally
- Go through the paragraph and cut the filler connectives

# Writing Anti-AI

Remove AI-generated writing patterns from text to make it sound natural and human-written. Supports both English and Chinese.

When editing academic prose, check the active installed
`skills/ml-paper-writing/references/knowledge/paper-miner-writing-memory.md`
under the current client's skill home for relevant source-attributed writing
examples. Use it only to guide natural structure and rhythm. Keep the author's
meaning, evidence, and target venue constraints intact. If the memory is absent
or irrelevant, continue with this skill's own pattern references.

## Overview

This skill identifies and eliminates predictable AI writing patterns from prose, based on [Wikipedia: Signs of AI writing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Signs_of_AI_writing), maintained by WikiProject AI Cleanup.

**Core insight**: LLMs use statistical algorithms to predict what should come next. The result tends toward the most statistically likely outcome that applies to the widest variety of cases—creating detectable patterns.

## When to Use This Skill

**Trigger phrases:**
- "Humanize this text" / "人性化处理这段文字"
- "Remove AI writing patterns" / "去除 AI 写作痕迹"
- "Make this sound more natural" / "让这段文字更自然"
- "This sounds robotic/AI-generated" / "这听起来像机器写的"
- "Fix the AI patterns" / "修复 AI 模式"

**Use cases:**
- Editing AI-generated content to sound human
- Reviewing text for AI patterns before publication
- Polishing academic or professional writing
- Removing "slop" from prose

## Core Rules (快速检查清单)

### 1. Cut Filler Phrases
Remove throat-clearing openers and emphasis crutches.

**English examples**:
- "In order to achieve this goal" → "To achieve this"
- "Due to the fact that" → "Because"
- "It is important to note that" → (delete)

**中文示例**:
- "为了实现这一目标" → "为了实现这一点"
- "值得注意的是" → (删除)
- "基于……的事实" → "因为"

### 2. Break Formulaic Structures
