## What it does

The skill takes a feature or product name and generates a structured `PRD-[product-name].md` file. The output covers eight sections: summary, contacts, background, objective, market segments, value propositions, solution, and release plan. Before writing, it triggers an `AskUserQuestion` prompt to let you choose between a full PRD, a lightweight spec, or isolated user stories.

Under the hood, work runs through sequential subtasks managed by `TaskCreate`. The agent searches past project context using MCP memory tools (`mcp__memory__search_nodes`) and drafts acceptance criteria in Gherkin format. A built-in Go/No-Go scoring gate grades viability, approving releases at 7.0 or above. The author specifies compatibility with Claude Code 2.1.277+, which affects background process execution in older versions.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill write-prd -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/write-prd/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill write-prd -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill write-prd -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yonatangross/orchestkit write-prd
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill write-prd -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yonatangross/orchestkit --path src/skills/write-prd
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill write-prd -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yonatangross/orchestkit/tree/HEAD/src/skills/write-prd/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate structured product requirements across 8 template sections
- draft INVEST user stories with Gherkin acceptance criteria
- map value propositions against customer jobs, pains, and gains
- score feature viability through a Go/No-Go decision framework

## Example prompts
- write a PRD for the SSO invite flow
- create a product requirements document for billing
- generate user stories and acceptance criteria for the dashboard

# PRD — Product Requirements Document

Translate product vision and research into clear, actionable engineering specifications. Produces `PRD-[product-name].md` output files following an 8-section structure.

**Output file naming:** `PRD-[product-name].md` (e.g., `PRD-sso-invite-flow.md`)

## Argument Resolution

```python
PRODUCT = "$ARGUMENTS"  # Product name or feature, e.g., "SSO invite flow"
```

## STEP 0: Scope Clarification

```python
AskUserQuestion(
  questions=[{
    "question": "What type of PRD?",
    "header": "PRD Scope",
    "options": [
      {"label": "Full PRD (Recommended)", "description": "All 8 sections with research, stories, and release plan"},
