# wiki-status

Reports what an Obsidian wiki has ingested, what changed since the last run, and which pages went stale. Run it before deciding whether to append or rebuild the vault.

## What it does

The skill totals up the wiki: how many sources are in, what appeared since the last ingest, how many pages and projects the vault holds. It reads `$OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH/.manifest.json` — the ingest ledger, with a timestamp, size, `content_hash` and created pages per source.

Then it scans: folders under `OBSIDIAN_SOURCES_DIR`, Claude history at `~/.claude/projects/*/*.jsonl`, Codex rollouts under `~/.codex/sessions/**/rollout-*.jsonl`. Every file lands in one bucket: new, modified, touched but identical, unchanged, deleted, unavailable. Pages also get tallied by `visibility/public`, `visibility/internal` and `visibility/pii`, which is what you look at before the vault leaves your machine.

Setup has to exist first: `OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH`, `OBSIDIAN_SOURCES_DIR`, `CLAUDE_HISTORY_PATH`, `CODEX_HISTORY_PATH`. A manifest still keyed on absolute paths needs `scripts/manifest.py migrate <vault>`, otherwise the same file is tracked twice and comes back in the next delta. Entries without `content_hash` fall back to mtime comparison, so a file that was touched but never edited reads as modified.

## Requirements
- Works with: Obsidian

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-status -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/wiki-status/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-status -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-status -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Ar9av/obsidian-wiki wiki-status
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-status -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --path .skills/wiki-status
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-status -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Ar9av/obsidian-wiki/tree/HEAD/.skills/wiki-status/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- See how many sources actually made it into the wiki
- Find Claude Code sessions missing from the manifest
- Separate an edited file from one that was only touched
- Check whether `pii`-tagged pages sit in the public set
- Choose between ingesting the delta and rebuilding the vault

## Example prompts
- What changed in the wiki since the last ingest?
- Any Codex rollouts under `~/.codex/sessions` that the manifest does not know about?
- How many pages are tagged `visibility/internal` right now?

# Wiki Status — Audit & Delta

You are computing the current state of the wiki: what's been ingested, what's new since last ingest, and what the delta looks like. This helps the user decide whether to append (ingest the delta) or rebuild (archive and reprocess everything).

## Before You Start

**Writing profile:** Before drafting or rewriting natural-language Markdown, read and apply the `Writing Profile Resolution` section in `llm-wiki/SKILL.md`. Framework schema, provenance, safety, and operation-specific requirements take precedence.
Apply `WRITING.md` preferences only to generated `_insights.md` prose; keep the analyser snapshot verbatim.

1. **Resolve config** — follow the Config Resolution Protocol in `llm-wiki/SKILL.md` (inline `@name` override → walk up CWD for `.env` → global config → prompt setup). This gives `OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH`, `OBSIDIAN_SOURCES_DIR`, `CLAUDE_HISTORY_PATH`, and `CODEX_HISTORY_PATH`.
2. Read `.manifest.json` at the vault root — this is the ingest tracking ledger

## The Manifest

The manifest lives at `$OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH/.manifest.json`. It tracks every source file that has been ingested. If it doesn't exist, this is a fresh vault with nothing ingested.

> **Source keys are portable — never bare absolute paths.** The canonical key is vault-relative for in-vault sources (`Raw/database/x.pdf`), `~`-relative for sources under `$HOME` (`~/.claude/projects/.../abc.jsonl`), or a pseudo-key (`repo:`/`url:`/`agent:`) for sources with no portable path form. Never mix forms — the same file would be tracked twice and re-ingested. See `llm-wiki/SKILL.md` → `.manifest.json` (Source key contract v2). Convert a legacy absolute-key manifest with `scripts/manifest.py migrate <vault>`.
