# wiki-stage-commit

Reviews LLM-written pages sitting in _staging/ and promotes the accepted ones into the live wiki. Only runs when WIKI_STAGED_WRITES=true.

## What it does

The skill walks the `_staging/` queue and shows what is waiting: new pages, updates, patches. You decide per file — accept, reject, skip. The inventory comes from `obsidian-wiki staging list --json` rather than a glob, because that command hands back the `staged_revision` and `live_revision` hashes.

Those hashes are the point. On accept they go into `obsidian-wiki staging promote` as `--expect-staged` and `--expect-live`, so a file that changed after you looked at it will not be moved. The CLI exits with code 9 and prints `conflict` on stderr. Nothing gets relocated. Do not just re-run with fresh revisions — re-list, show the user what moved, and ask again.

Patches are the exception: `promote` refuses `.patch.md` files. Merging a readable diff into a page whose surrounding text may have shifted is judgement, not a rename. You merge those by hand and then clear them with `staging discard`. Rejected files land in `_raw/rejected-<category>-<page>.md`, and a second rejection of the same page gets a `-2` suffix instead of overwriting the first. Before any of this, resolve config through the protocol in `llm-wiki/SKILL.md` to get `OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH` and `WIKI_STAGED_WRITES`. If the latter is unset or `false`, the skill tells you so and stops — without that `.env` variable there is nothing for it to do.

## Requirements
- Works with: Obsidian

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-stage-commit -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/wiki-stage-commit/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-stage-commit -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-stage-commit -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Ar9av/obsidian-wiki wiki-stage-commit
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-stage-commit -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --path .skills/wiki-stage-commit
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Ar9av/obsidian-wiki --skill wiki-stage-commit -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Ar9av/obsidian-wiki/tree/HEAD/.skills/wiki-stage-commit/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- review the `_staging/` queue before pages go live
- accept a whole batch of staged pages with `--all`
- reject everything and send files back to `_raw/` for manual editing
- catch a conflict when the live page changed after review
- merge a patch into its target page and clear it from the queue

## Example prompts
- /wiki-stage-commit --list
- /wiki-stage-commit
- /wiki-stage-commit --reject-all

# Wiki Stage Commit — Staged Write Promotion

You are reviewing LLM-written pages that are waiting in `_staging/` for human approval before they land in the live wiki. This skill is only useful when `WIKI_STAGED_WRITES=true` in the vault config.

## Before You Start

1. **Resolve config** — follow the Config Resolution Protocol in `llm-wiki/SKILL.md`. This gives `OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH` and `WIKI_STAGED_WRITES`.
2. If `WIKI_STAGED_WRITES` is not set or is `false`, tell the user: "Staged writes mode is not enabled. Set `WIKI_STAGED_WRITES=true` in your `.env` to use this feature." Then stop.
3. Read the `_staging/` directory inventory.

## Invocation Forms

```
/wiki-stage-commit               # interactive review: show each file and ask accept/reject
/wiki-stage-commit --all         # accept all staged files without per-file review
/wiki-stage-commit --reject-all  # reject all staged files (move to _raw/ for manual editing)
/wiki-stage-commit --list        # list staged files with summary, no changes
```

## Step 1: Inventory Staged Files

The CLI owns the inventory — don't glob `_staging/` yourself:

```bash
obsidian-wiki staging list --json
```

Each entry carries:

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `staged_path` | vault-relative path of the staged file |
| `live_path` | where it will land (a `.patch.md` targets the page it is named after) |
| `kind` | `new`, `update`, or `patch` |
| `staged_revision` | content hash of the staged file, as you are seeing it now |
| `live_revision` | content hash of the live page, or `null` if there is none yet |
| `staged_mtime` | when it was staged |

**Keep `staged_revision` and `live_revision` for every file you show the user.** They are what makes Step 3 refuse to overwrite an agent's concurrent write instead of silently clobbering it.

Report the inventory:

```
Staged files: 4 new pages, 2 updates
New pages:
  _staging/concepts/attention-mechanism.md        (staged 2026-09-08)
  _staging/entities/andrej-karpathy.md            (staged 2026-09-08)
Updates:
  _staging/concepts/transformer-architecture.md   (target: concepts/transformer-architecture.md)
Patches:
