## What it does

The skill drives a Webflow project through MCP tools. It locates the site, finds a page by name or slug, pulls the elements and their classes, then proposes names that follow Flowkit conventions — Webflow's official CSS framework with a utility-first approach. The core workflow is headless: an explicit page ID is enough, no Designer connection needed. Designer only matters for the optional conveniences, such as working with the page currently open or picking an element on the canvas.

Four jobs are covered: creating classes for new components, auditing existing names, building full page sections, and refactoring classes that do not match Flowkit. The audit report shows each current name next to a suggested one. From there the skill creates styles and applies classes to elements, processing them in batches of 10–15.

The naming scheme is short. A component wrapper is `fk-[component]`, a child element is `fk-[component]-[element]`, and states or variants are combo classes like `fk-card.is-featured`. Layout and spacing come from utilities: `fk-flex`, `fk-grid-3`, `fk-space-md`, `fk-py-lg`, with typography handled by `fk-text-xl` and `fk-text-bold`. Every tool call needs a `context` parameter of 15–25 words written in third person, so have that phrasing ready. If your project already uses its own class names, the skill will propose renames — worth checking first whether custom code or integrations depend on the old ones.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill webflow-mcp:flowkit-naming -a claude-code
```
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill flowkit-naming -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/flowkit-naming/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill flowkit-naming -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill flowkit-naming -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install webflow/webflow-skills flowkit-naming
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill flowkit-naming -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/webflow/webflow-skills --path plugins/webflow-skills/skills/flowkit-naming
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add webflow/webflow-skills --skill flowkit-naming -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/webflow/webflow-skills/tree/HEAD/plugins/webflow-skills/skills/flowkit-naming/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- audit class names on a Webflow page and get a report of mismatches
- generate classes for a new component following Flowkit conventions
- rename existing classes into the `fk-` format without going element by element
- build a page section from layout and spacing utilities
- spot classes missing the prefix, using underscores or mixed case

## Example prompts
- audit the classes on the pricing page and show me what breaks Flowkit
- create Flowkit classes for a pricing card component
- rename the classes in the hero section to `fk-` and apply them

# Flowkit Naming System

Apply FlowKit CSS naming conventions in Webflow projects using Webflow Designer tools.

## Important Note

**ALWAYS use Webflow MCP tools for all operations:**
- Use Webflow MCP's `webflow_guide_tool` to get best practices before starting
- Use Webflow MCP's `data_sites_tool` with action `list_sites` to identify the target site
- Use Webflow MCP's `data_pages_tool` with action `list_pages` to find the target page by name or slug — headless, no Designer needed
- Use Webflow MCP's `data_element_tool` to inspect current classes and apply new ones — headless, pass the page's ID directly
- Use Webflow MCP's `data_style_tool` to create and update FlowKit-compliant styles — headless
- Use Webflow MCP's `webflow_guide_tool` to understand supported style properties
- Use Webflow MCP's `designer_tool` only if the user wants to work with whatever page is currently open in Designer, or wants to interactively select an element on the canvas
- DO NOT use any other tools or methods for Webflow operations
- All tool calls must include the required `context` parameter (15-25 words, third-person perspective)
- **No Designer connection is required for the core workflow.** Getting the page, inspecting classes, creating styles, and applying classes all run headlessly against an explicit page ID. Designer is only needed for the optional `designer_tool` conveniences above.

## Instructions

### Phase 1: Discovery & Setup
1. **Identify the task**: Determine if user is:
   - Creating new component classes
   - Auditing existing class names
