## What it does

The skill gives the agent ElevenLabs tools: `text_to_speech`, `speech_to_speech`, `voice_clone`, `search_voices`, `speech_to_text`, `isolate_audio` and `create_agent`. With them it generates narration, swaps the voice on a recording, builds an instant clone from a sample, finds a matching voice in the library, transcribes audio with speaker separation and strips background noise.

Most of the value is in the vocal processing rules. The skill targets -16 LUFS for podcasts and -14 for streaming, and keeps true peak under -1 dBTP. De-essing goes at 5–8 kHz before compression, since compression lifts sibilance. Dialogue gets a 3:1–4:1 ratio with a slow 10–20 ms attack so transients survive. A high-pass at 80–100 Hz clears rumble and plosives.

Cloning needs clean source material: 1–3 minutes of speech, one speaker, no reverb or background. A phone recording should go through `isolate_audio` first, otherwise the clone learns the noise. `eleven_multilingual_v2` is the quality pick, `eleven_flash_v2_5` the low-latency one for voice UI. Spatial audio, music production, game middleware and sound effects are out of scope here — the sound-engineer skill covers those.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill voice-audio-engineer -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/voice-audio-engineer/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill voice-audio-engineer -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill voice-audio-engineer -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install curiositech/some_claude_skills voice-audio-engineer
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill voice-audio-engineer -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/curiositech/some_claude_skills --path .claude/skills/voice-audio-engineer
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill voice-audio-engineer -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/curiositech/some_claude_skills/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/voice-audio-engineer/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- narrate a script with a chosen ElevenLabs voice
- clone a voice from a short clean sample
- produce a podcast mixed to LUFS targets
- remove sibilance and rumble from a recording
- transcribe audio with speaker diarization

## Example prompts
- Generate TTS for this script using a voice from the ElevenLabs library
- Run isolate_audio on this recording, then clone the voice
- Mix this dialogue for a podcast and hit -16 LUFS

# Voice & Audio Engineer: Voice Synthesis, TTS & Speech Processing

Expert in voice synthesis, speech processing, and vocal production using ElevenLabs and professional audio techniques. Specializes in TTS, voice cloning, podcast production, and voice UI design.

## When to Use This Skill

✅ **Use for:**
- Text-to-speech (TTS) generation
- Voice cloning and voice design
- Speech-to-speech voice transformation
- Podcast production and editing
- Audiobook production
- Voice UI/conversational AI audio
- Dialogue mixing and processing
