## What it does

This skill teaches the agent how to reach Venice's JSON-RPC proxy. Network slugs come from the public `GET /crypto/rpc/networks` endpoint, and requests go to `POST /crypto/rpc/{network}` with an `Authorization: Bearer $VENICE_API_KEY` header. The request shape matches Alchemy or Infura — only the base URL changes.

Methods are grouped into `evm`, `starknet` and `solana` families, and each family has its own explicit allowlist of method names rather than prefixes. Send an EVM method to a Solana slug and you get a `400` instead of a pass-through. Batches hold up to 100 calls; one unsupported method fails the whole batch. Every item needs a distinct `id`, since billing matches responses to requests that way.

Cost is `baseCredits[chain] × methodTier` at `$0.0000007` per credit. A plain Ethereum call runs 20 credits, traces double that, replays quadruple it. There is a per-minute rate limit and requests from one user are serialized, so firing parallel bursts will not work. Stateful and WebSocket methods such as `eth_subscribe` and `eth_newFilter` are rejected. Venice also checks your balance against the full-tier estimate before forwarding, returning `402` if it falls short.

You need the API key up front — without `VENICE_API_KEY` nothing goes through.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add veniceai/skills --skill venice-crypto-rpc -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add veniceai/skills --skill venice-crypto-rpc -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add veniceai/skills --skill venice-crypto-rpc -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install veniceai/skills venice-crypto-rpc
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add veniceai/skills --skill venice-crypto-rpc -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/veniceai/skills --path skills/venice-crypto-rpc
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add veniceai/skills --skill venice-crypto-rpc -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/veniceai/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/venice-crypto-rpc/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- route an `eth_call` to Ethereum through a paid proxy
- send several RPC calls in one batch request
- wire `viem` to a chain without running a node
- estimate what a method tier costs per call
- retry a request safely with an idempotency key

## Example prompts
- Ask venice-crypto-rpc which networks are available right now
- Send `eth_chainId` to `base-mainnet` through Venice
- Batch `eth_chainId` and `eth_blockNumber` for `ethereum-mainnet`

# Venice Crypto RPC (JSON-RPC proxy)

Venice exposes a **multi-chain JSON-RPC proxy** billed per call. Same request shape as Alchemy / Infura — change the base URL and pay per credit from your Venice balance (DIEM → earned credits → bundled credits → USD) or an x402 wallet.

| Endpoint | Auth | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `GET /crypto/rpc/networks` | **None** (public) | Returns `{ "networks": [...] }`, sorted alphabetically. |
| `POST /crypto/rpc/{network}` | Bearer API key (`INFERENCE` or `ADMIN`) or `SIGN-IN-WITH-X` (x402 wallet) | Forward a JSON-RPC 2.0 request (single or batch). |

## Supported networks

```bash
curl https://api.venice.ai/api/v1/crypto/rpc/networks
```

It currently returns 27 slugs (always verify — the catalog grows):

```
arbitrum-mainnet    arbitrum-sepolia
avalanche-mainnet   avalanche-fuji
base-mainnet        base-sepolia
blast-mainnet       blast-sepolia
bsc-mainnet         bsc-testnet
ethereum-mainnet    ethereum-sepolia    ethereum-holesky
linea-mainnet       linea-sepolia
optimism-mainnet    optimism-sepolia
polygon-mainnet     polygon-amoy
robinhood-mainnet   robinhood-testnet
solana-mainnet      solana-devnet
starknet-mainnet    starknet-sepolia
zksync-mainnet      zksync-sepolia
```

Use the slug as `{network}` in the proxy path. An unknown slug is a `400`. The spec's example list for `/networks` omits `blast-mainnet` / `blast-sepolia`, but the live endpoint and proxy include them — trust `GET /crypto/rpc/networks`, and don't hardcode a client-side allowlist.

### Chain families

Each network speaks exactly one method family, and the allowlist is enforced per family. Sending an EVM method to a Solana network (or the reverse) is a `400`, not a pass-through.

| Family | Networks |
|---|---|
| `evm` | Everything except Starknet and Solana, including Robinhood Chain (an Arbitrum Orbit L2). |
| `starknet` | `starknet-mainnet`, `starknet-sepolia` |
| `solana` | `solana-mainnet`, `solana-devnet` |
