## What it does

The skill teaches AI agents how to interact with the Backlog project management service through the `bee` CLI. It covers managing issues, pull requests, projects, wiki pages, and notifications. For endpoints without dedicated commands, it uses `bee api` with `-f` or `-F` flags to pass payload data.

Non-interactive environments cannot handle interactive prompts. The agent must pass all required parameters through flags and append `--yes` for destructive actions. Output is parsed as structured data with the `--json` flag.

Commands will fail immediately without an active session. The user must run `bee auth login` beforehand. Defining `BACKLOG_SPACE`, `BACKLOG_PROJECT`, and `BACKLOG_REPO` environment variables avoids typing default flags repeatedly.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nulab/bee --skill using-bee -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/using-bee/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nulab/bee --skill using-bee -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nulab/bee --skill using-bee -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install nulab/bee using-bee
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nulab/bee --skill using-bee -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/nulab/bee --path skills/using-bee
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nulab/bee --skill using-bee -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/nulab/bee/tree/HEAD/skills/using-bee/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- list and filter open issues in Backlog projects
- create or review pull requests via the bee CLI
- check and mark Backlog notifications as read
- send direct requests to Backlog endpoints using bee api

## Example prompts
- List open Backlog issues assigned to @me using bee
- Create a new pull request in Backlog for this branch
- Check unread notifications with bee notification list

# using-bee

bee is a CLI for Backlog. Use it to manage issues, pull requests, projects, wikis, documents, and more.

## Prerequisites

bee must be authenticated. If commands fail with auth errors, ask the user to run `bee auth login`.

Set these environment variables to avoid repeating common flags:

| Variable          | Purpose                 | Example           |
| ----------------- | ----------------------- | ----------------- |
| `BACKLOG_SPACE`   | Default space hostname  | `xxx.backlog.com` |
| `BACKLOG_PROJECT` | Default project key     | `MY_PROJECT`      |
| `BACKLOG_REPO`    | Default repository name | `my-repo`         |

## Commands
