## What it does

The skill covers the TypeScript/JavaScript SDK `@upstash/box` — cloud containers that come with an AI agent, a shell, a filesystem, git, cron schedules and an optional headless browser. Reach for it when you need to run untrusted or agent-generated code in isolation, hand an agent a cloud dev environment with a repository, or drive browser automation from a box.

It walks through the box lifecycle: `Box.create` with a runtime (`node`, `python`, `golang`, `ruby`, `rust` plus `-alpine` variants), size, labels, `keepAlive`, `initCommand`, a git token and environment variables. Then `Box.get`, `Box.getByName`, `Box.list`, pause, resume, delete, and bulk deletion of boxes and snapshots. A separate section handles agent runs: `box.agent.run` with a Zod response schema, streaming via `box.agent.stream`, webhooks, and per-harness options for `Agent.ClaudeCode`, `Agent.Codex`, `Agent.OpenCode`, `Agent.Cursor` and `Agent.Custom`.

You need a key first: set `UPSTASH_BOX_API_KEY` or pass `apiKey` to the constructors. `zod` is a peer dependency and only matters for `responseSchema` and browser schemas. The SDK sends anonymous telemetry by default; turn it off with `UPSTASH_DISABLE_TELEMETRY` or `enableTelemetry: false` in the config. One gotcha worth knowing: `box.pause()` throws on keep-alive boxes, because those are never idle-paused.

# @upstash/box SDK

Sandboxed cloud containers with built-in AI agents, shell, filesystem, git, cron schedules, and an optional headless browser.

The Python SDK (`upstash-box`) mirrors this API with snake_case names — see the
`upstash-box-py` skill for the Python spelling of everything below.

## Install & Setup

npm install @upstash/box

Set `UPSTASH_BOX_API_KEY` env var or pass `apiKey` to constructors.

Anonymous telemetry headers are sent by default. Opt out with the
`UPSTASH_DISABLE_TELEMETRY` env var, or `enableTelemetry: false` in the config
(the only option on runtimes without `process.env`, e.g. Cloudflare Workers).
