## What it does

The skill kicks in when you ask the agent to design an interface, generate a design system or audit an existing UI. It ships a set of reference files under `references/`: design directions, token architecture, oklch palettes, typography, grids and spacing, depth and elevation, component patterns, motion, WCAG 2.2 accessibility and cognitive principles. The agent is required to read them before proposing anything — that is the author's way of keeping output away from generic templates.

Work starts from intent. The agent first works out who the user is, what they need to accomplish and how the interface should feel, and only then writes code. Every decision needs a stated reason: why this layout, why this colour temperature, why this typeface. There is a checkpoint too — before each batch of UI code the agent spells out palette, depth, surfaces, typography and spacing scale.

The skill recommends GPT-5.3 Codex or Gemini 3.0 Pro, and defaults to light mode, switching to dark only when asked. Fintech dashboards, SaaS landing pages and developer tools get dedicated support. If you want a quick scaffold without the back-and-forth, this one will slow you down: it deliberately stops the agent and demands answers about the user and the task.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --skill ui-ux-design-pro -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --skill ui-ux-design-pro -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --skill ui-ux-design-pro -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill ui-ux-design-pro
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --skill ui-ux-design-pro -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --path skills/ui-ux-design-pro
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill --skill ui-ux-design-pro -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/saifyxpro/ui-ux-design-pro-skill/tree/HEAD/skills/ui-ux-design-pro/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- design a dashboard from scratch without falling back on a template
- generate a design system: tokens, palette, type scale
- audit an existing UI for accessibility and craft
- find proven patterns for a fintech panel or landing page
- justify each choice of grid, colour and typeface

## Example prompts
- Design a fintech dashboard for payment analytics: read the `references/` files first, then propose a direction
- Audit this settings page for accessibility and craft
- Create a design system for a SaaS landing page: tokens, palette and type scale

  Senior-level UI/UX design expert for building data-driven, premium production interfaces.
  Use when you need to:
  1. Design complex applications (dashboards, SaaS, AI tools) from scratch
  2. Generate comprehensive design systems (tokens, palettes, typography)
  3. Audit existing UI for quality, accessibility, and "craft"
  4. Search for proven real-world design patterns and implementation details

# UI/UX Design Pro

## Recommended Models
For best results, use **GPT-5.3 Codex** or **Gemini 3.0 Pro**.

## Default Settings
- **Theme**: Always prefer **Light Mode** by default. Only use Dark Mode if explicitly requested by the user.

Build every interface with senior-level craft, intent, and consistency. Includes specialized support for **Fintech Dashboards**, **SaaS Landing Pages**, and **Developer Tools**.

## Scope

**Use for:** Dashboards, admin panels, SaaS apps, tools, settings pages, data interfaces, AI interfaces, mobile apps, landing pages, marketing sites, product showcases.

---

## MANDATORY: Read References Before Designing

**You MUST read all reference files in `references/` before proposing or building any UI.** These are not optional — they contain production-tested patterns, validated token systems, and craft principles that prevent generic output.

**Required reading order:**

1. `references/design-directions.md` — direction selection and example systems
2. `references/token-architecture.md` — token naming and layering
3. `references/color-system.md` — oklch palettes, contrast, dark mode
4. `references/typography.md` — font pairings, scales, hierarchy
5. `references/spacing-and-layout.md` — grid systems, spacing scales
6. `references/depth-and-elevation.md` — shadow and border strategies
7. `references/component-patterns.md` — states, interaction patterns
8. `references/animation-and-motion.md` — timing, easing, GPU performance
9. `references/real-world-patterns.md` — 10 shipped production patterns
10. `references/accessibility.md` — WCAG 2.2, contrast, keyboard nav
11. `references/cognitive-principles.md` — Hick's, Fitts's, Gestalt
