Supplies component library rules for shadcn/ui and Radix Primitives. It guides agents on v4 styles, OKLCH theming, CVA variants, and Zod form validation.

## What it does

The skill packages 15 rules across six categories: shadcn/ui v4 styling, W3C tokens with OKLCH color spaces, CVA component variants, React Hook Form v7 with Zod, modern Tailwind v4 tooling, and UX foundations. It forces agents to wrap generated library files rather than editing their source directly.

It details patterns for six shadcn CLI v4 styles: Vega, Nova, Maia, Lyra, Mira, and Luma. Code recipes enforce using the `cn()` utility for Tailwind class resolution, data-attribute state selectors for CSS animations, and `asChild` composition to eliminate redundant wrapper divs.

Compatibility requires Claude Code 2.1.277+. Because model invocation is disabled by default, the skill acts as a background guidance set whenever you generate frontend UI code.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill ui-components -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ui-components/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ui-components/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill ui-components -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ui-components/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill ui-components -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ui-components/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yonatangross/orchestkit ui-components
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ui-components/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill ui-components -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yonatangross/orchestkit --path src/skills/ui-components
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ui-components/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yonatangross/orchestkit --skill ui-components -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- scaffold accessible Radix dialogs using asChild composition
- build type-safe variant components with CVA and the cn utility
- integrate React Hook Form v7 with Zod schemas and Server Actions
- configure shadcn CLI v4 styles without modifying upstream source files

## Example prompts
- Build a confirmation modal component using Radix Dialog and AlertDialog
- Create a registration form using react-hook-form v7 validated with Zod
- Set up a button component with multi-axis variants using CVA and Tailwind

# UI Components

Patterns for building accessible UI component libraries with shadcn/ui and Radix Primitives, as a thin wrap over the first-party docs: quick-start recipes, key decisions, anti-patterns, and the house delta. Vendor mechanics (CVA variants, cn() utility, component extension, asChild composition, dialog/menu patterns, data-attribute styling) are upstream's job; see [Upstream coverage (do not restate)](#upstream-coverage-do-not-restate). Each remaining category has individual rule files in `rules/` loaded on-demand.

## Quick Reference

| Category | Rules | Impact | When to Use |
|----------|-------|--------|-------------|
| [shadcn/ui](#shadcnui) | 1 | HIGH | v4 styles, preset codes, style detection |
| [Design System](#design-system) | 4 | HIGH | W3C tokens, OKLCH theming, spacing scales, typography, component states, animation |
| [Design System Components](#design-system-components) | 1 | HIGH | Atomic design, CVA variants, accessibility, Storybook |
| [Forms](#forms) | 2 | HIGH | React Hook Form v7, Zod validation, Server Actions |
| [Modern CSS & Tooling](#modern-css--tooling) | 3 | HIGH | CSS cascade layers, Tailwind v4, Storybook CSF3 |
| [UX Foundations](#ux-foundations) | 4 | HIGH | Visual hierarchy, typography thresholds, color system, empty states |

**Total: 15 rules across 6 categories.** Radix primitive mechanics and shadcn
customization tutorials are first-party documented; see
[Upstream coverage (do not restate)](#upstream-coverage-do-not-restate) and
[references/ork-delta.md](references/ork-delta.md) for what stays ours.

## Quick Start

```tsx
// CVA variant system with cn() utility
import { cva, type VariantProps } from 'class-variance-authority'
import { cn } from '@/lib/utils'
const buttonVariants = cva(
  'inline-flex items-center justify-center rounded-md font-medium transition-colors',
  {
    variants: {
      variant: {
        default: 'bg-primary text-primary-foreground hover:bg-primary/90',
        destructive: 'bg-destructive text-destructive-foreground',
        outline: 'border border-input bg-background hover:bg-accent',
        ghost: 'hover:bg-accent hover:text-accent-foreground',
      },
      size: {
